Guys, I really need your help. I have problem accessing my power management settings in my SPV. Whenever I open it, it says the message "Error! The settings could not be opened." Anyone who had experience the same problem? Actually, the real problem for me is that I don't want the Screensaver: Turnoff mode and I wanna change the Backlight timeout but I can't. Please help......

If there's no way for me to access the power management settings, is there any way I can change the Turnoff and backlight mode? :cry:

Fire up the Registry editor.

@pzee

how are you working now with registry tweaking? :)

Oo pare, sarap mag tweak ng registry. Nasa registry lahat. ;)

Pag mapag aralan mabuti registry paths, keys,settings and values, pwede ka na gawa ng 'impossible' gaya nung gawa ni Monolithix- create cab installers for your own skin/theme. Wow! :shock: :wink:

Ever wondered why sabi ng iba power-saver yung Qtek ROM compared sa Smart ROM? Correct me if Im wrong but maybe coz of settings, and regedit will let you tweak these settings. Also, yung multipress time out everytime mag compose ka ng SMS, nakaset yung rate nun sa registry. 1/2=500, that is half a second. I had mine set at 200 para tuloy tuloy pagpindot without much delay. :wink:

What Im driving at is: LAHAT NASA REGISTRY. 8)

That happened to me too. I was up in Baguio with no internet access. Carlo tried to teach me how to change some settings using Reg edit but I ended up doing a Hard Reset afterall.

Kapag nagkamali ka lang sa pag edit ng registry, patay ang phone mo. Siguradong hard reset ka na nyan. Happened to me already. :x

Hey, thanks sa lahat! ;)

But I don't want a Hard Reset...hirap kasi mag-ayos ng lahat pati contacts and baka masimlock ulit e...Anyone who could teach me how to edit the mode through the REG Editor? Step by step ah...hehe pls para sure! :)

Actually, my phone was really ok before, but because of the game "DOOM SPV" (parang counter strike siya more than 1 MB) naghang yung phone ko while I was playing. And then I had no choice but to remove the battery. When I restarted it, nagstuck siya sa start up load na "Smart Simply Amazing". From then on, naghang na nga siya dun so I removed again the battery and then the same thing happened. :cry:

I had it fixed in Brightpoint, so nireinstall nila lahat and goodbye lahat ng pinaghirapan ko! Buti na lang sim unlock pa rin. Then , I checked the power management hindi pala nagwowork but it's too late everything was ok na kasi, I had everyhing installed and organized. They said ireinstall daw nila ulit, but I give up na. I don't want to start all over again! :cry:

mas matagal nga (installing back your apps) kung Hard Reset...but with Reg Edit, if you're not too familiar with reg Edit, mas risky naman.

btw, you mentioned that you had your phone repaired at BP and after na-repair SIM-unlock pa rin. Did you bring your phone sa Brightpoint na naka sim-unlock na? Hindi nila nalaman? Hindi void ang wrranty?

same thing happened to me when i brought my openline SAP to BP last july after a failed upgrade to smart rom 1.50, after they've fixed it na-corrupt yung power management settings, but it was fixed by the QTEK rom (kc na hard reset).

@dino-di updated yung pang flash na ROM sa BP kaya di nalo-lock yung fone and kung di nagbo-booth yung fone, there's no way fro them to tell if its lock. unless i-check nila after maayos. :)

@grifter

siguro kaya di pinapansin ng BP ang openline units kasi madali lang naman i-lock ulit kung gusto mo. wala na silang magagawa dun eh.

@pitviper

tama yung mga suggestions nila. backup mo yung ipsm tapos hard reset. restore mo na lang yung ipsm pagkatapos. sana lang pag-restore mo, di bumalik yung problema. anyway, welcome to modaco! :wink:

@pzee

that's how fun registry tweaking is... but be very carefull in doing so... :)

Better keep a low profile here re: unlocking since who knows one of these days a BP personnel may be lurking in the background.

yes... you're right... we do'nt know who they are...

yup! I brought my phone openlined and had it fixed under warranty so I didn't have to pay anything and then I brought it home still openlined. I guess they were not able to check it anymore coz as I had said, nagstuck siya sa "Smart Simply Amazing" so there's no way for them to check it. but they checked the condition kung ok. By the way, the personnel were nice and friendly naman.

And by the way, there's no connection with the sim unlocking and damage in the phone because in sim unlocking, you just get the software to reveal the locking code and that's it. So I hope Brightpoint personnel knows that!

Hey, what's a QTEK ROM?

I think the best solution I could do in the REG Editor is to copy the power management settings of the REG Editor of my brothers phone so that I won't make a mistake! I'll do it when he get home from the province. I'll keep you updated!

Hmmmm didn't i tell you that I'm from brightpoint? At sumbungero ako? :) just kidding.

It takes a lot of brains to undertstand what we're doing here in modaco. I guess they need a lot of it (brightpoint). Di ba grifter? :D

Eh sa mga naSPAMsa ko dito sa forum, nakakatakot nang ipagalaw ang SAP ko sa kanila. Merong thumbmark sa loob ng screen, disclaiming warranties on silly grounds, etc. I'd rather pay for good service if my SAP needs to be repaired than avail of warranties which can ruin my phone not to mention my day or week for that matter. :)
