Guest marknicholls Posted October 21, 2003 Report Share Posted October 21, 2003 Hi I have just recieved my lovely Mio 8380 and its amazing...HOWEVRER... when i turn the phone on, a "tune" sounds for about 20 seconds....and its awful! There are no settings to get rid of it, and i am hoping someone knows the path and file name so i can delete it....or can someone tell me how to remove it? Guest martin Posted October 21, 2003 Report Share Posted October 21, 2003 I don't have a MITAC but I suspect there are 2 places where it might be hiding. 1. Check the IPSM/Windows/StartUP directory or 2. Load PHM Registry Editor goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Sounds/SystemStart. click Values tab and highlight Sound (+action key) and check the filename in Value Data If its in the above key then you can create a script which should stop the startup sound playing Click Menu - New Value - String Value Name: Script Value (leave blank) I hope it works for you :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Here is the settings: Rng Type: Silent Ring Volume: Off Alarm Type: Play Sound Alarm Volume: Loud Notification Type: Play Sound Notification Volume: Off System Sound Volume: Off Why does my phone ALWAYS vibrate when i get a text message! I cant put my phone on silent when i go to bed....i have to turn it off as if i get a message at night, it wakes me. There must be a way....THERE MUST! Also, is there a way for me to access my phones folders from my PC? as i would like to be able to copy me internet favorites folder from my PC to the favs folder on the phone.
