Guest getwired Posted December 6, 2003 Report Share Posted December 6, 2003 Just ranting here, but obviously, whomever designed the record/jog control on this phone never used it. I really like making calls from a voice tag (used it on my v60 all of the time), but on the MPx200, I'd say that my chances of me pressing straight down on the jog to tell the phone that I want to say a name and NOT have it think that I want to modify the volume is at about 98%. AND in order to get that 2% to work, I must lay the phone on the table and make an extreme effort to press the button in straight. That's not exactly an option when in the car or walking around. I am very dissapointed. If you like this feature on your existing phone, I would not switch to the MPx200. :x Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest abatis Posted December 7, 2003 Report Share Posted December 7, 2003 I have found that if I position thumb nail on the top lip of the dial and press down and straight in simultaneuosly I get voice 9 out of 10 times. I've found that after a bit of practice I can get it most of the time. Also it seems if you do get the earpiece volume dialog, you can just press the key towards the center and it will switch over to the record dialog (as long as you don't let go of the button when the volume dialog appears). Guest equis Posted December 13, 2003 Report Share Posted December 13, 2003 You know what I was extremely mad when I kept trying to use it, the problem is not with your finger but with the software. For me I have to press the back button all the way back to the homescreen and out of any programs that are running in the background then press the jog dial in, then it works flawlessly. Guest gasmith Posted January 7, 2004 Report Share Posted January 7, 2004 I have a work-around for the problem. I created a speed dial (#9) and set it to the Voice Recorder application. Now when I want to start the recorder, I just hold down #9 on the key pad. 1. Find Voice Records in the program list 2. Select menu 3. Select Add Speed Dial 4. Set the desired speed dial button. The problem is not keeping the jog dial centered whle pushing it is that you are not pushing it hard enough. Give it a hard push and hold, it works every time. I use my thumb nail.
