Anyone sourced a case?

Seems to be a few cases around and about but they all seem to be pouches or the type of case where you'd have to take the handset out to pick up a call, text etc. Anyone know of a stockist selling the clamshell type case? Dont dare take my phone out witout a case incase I drop it!!

An after thought, wouldnt a Panasonic GD87 case do the trick if nothing else is available?

Well done on finding this, none of the mobile phone shops in Cardiff have them, they just look at you blankly when you ask.

Have you bought this yet? if so is it worth the £13 does it have clear plastic over the screen/buttons?

Any chance of a review by someone who has bought it. the site you gave the link to Du2ty has no reviews at this time

Also, anyone found an in-car charger yet?

Matt.

Please take a look at this, VERY worrying/annoying.

When are companies going to sell a replacement case, like taking it apart and making the whole MPX blue or something like that instead of pouches. After all my phone is not a Kangaroo.

lawsonium, According to the stockist its a full clamshell case with protective plastic on the screen and buttons AND it has a zipper so if the handset is dropped it wont spring open and damage any moving parts (if zipped up) the case is very much like the Sharp GX10i case but without the zipper  As for the phone shops, they aint got a clue some didnt even know the handset!

For any other accessories take a look here they do have cheaper cases but Id sooner pay extra and know ive got a good quality protective case!

Enjoy

The Zip feature sounds really good (provided the zip is a sturdy effort not one of those continuous plastic spiral type), it could make the case a very safe home for the phone and also has a show-off factor too. Almost sporty, sort of thing.

I ride horses most days and with my old Sony J70e I had a sturdy phone in a sturdy case and never worried about clipping the VERY tight belt clip to my belt and setting off through the trees. Since I have owned the MPx I haven't taken it with me, not even in my pocket, which is kinda odd since I have had years of being contactable on the horse (Nokia 3210 before my Sony and before that a Philips Diga which is atomic bomb proof bby the way).

I fear that even safely ziped up in my pocket I could still drop it when answering a call, which from a horse is quite a tumbl for any phone.

Has anyone actually bought this though? No review is as good as a first hand account.

Also, any chance of an in-car charger?

Matt

I agree Shuflie, even though this isnot always the best indicator. It isn't unusual to see the wrong photo when the correct one isn't available, but this site doesn't have the usual 'Not Actual Picture' statement, so I don't think I would be very trusting of them either. They don't fill you with confidence!

Though Du2ty's comments on the case he found have got me thinking I might buy the zippy case. I'll prob wait till Orenge shops and the like stock the Car Charger before I buy, it's not quite as important as the case.

Thanks everyone.

I'll post my opinions of the case in here as soon as I get one.

I had a look a that site and I would be very wary of buying anything from them, none of the accessories they are advertising for the MPx200 look as if they are designed for the phone.

I wouldn't worry too much- I've used that site before, not the best quality but does as it says. I very much doubt it would be the sync/charge cable though :!:

If you want a car charging solution you can buy a USB car adaptor and use your sync and charge cable with it. If you don't like the idea of carrying the sync and charge cable, then just buy another one, its a standard mini 5 pin USB cable after all, nothing unique to motorola.

Du2ty I just ordered one online from the site you recomended and the they said 3 business days, so I'll let you know what comes on Wednesday or Thursday.

It's got to be cheaper than anything you'd get on the highstreet anyway, certainly cheaper than strait from the Orange shop for example. Let's hope it lives up to expectations :!:

I always try to use OEM accessories. Yes, they may cost more, but, my house or car not burning down are worth it. I have seen many pictures of people buying non OEM. Then the Fire Marshall sends a letter blaming the fire on Motorola. In the end a poorly designed accessory has been to blame.

Glad you fella's have found the post to be usefull. I cant really comment on the quality of the m-99 products, ive never bought from them in the past but you can bet they aint as good as the case in the start of this thread! I dont really mind paying alittle extra for quality though some people might not have the cash and settle for a cheaper case?

My case is pegged for delivery Tuesday so Ill let you all know what its like. Looks the proper kit to me!!!

Cheers Dusty.

I still haven't received my case from these guys.

Before Christmas I sent an e-mail asking why it had not yet been dispatched and they "profusely apologise for the inconvenience", going on to say that due to massive stock shortages with this case 'put down to it's popularity' they were unable to complete my order. They told me I was on the list of customers to receive this item as soon as they came in, but that was 10 days ago and still nothing!

I'll keep you all posted.

Matt.

Well done andysalmon for finding out about that, it certainly explains the problem we're all having.

Sorry for the way I wrote the above post, I have just come back from being away at Christmas and posted my 'news' on my case delivery problems without reading your posts first (for speed purposes you understand, or maybe it's just engaging mouth before braain as usual).

Anyway, that's where I am at the moment guys, my account still says 'not dispatched', let's hope we get our cases asap in the New Year.

Will post news as soon as I get it.

I dont mean to be rude but I think they are taking the pi$$! When I ordered this case (13/12/03) there website clearly stated 3 business days to dispatch, there was NO mention of any delay's or stock shortages. What got my goat even more was every time I sent them an email all I got in return was an automated reply. In the end I cancelled the order and bought one from a guy off eBay for £4.50.

I ordered mine on the 14/12/03 so I am inclined to agree with you it is a bit of a pi55 take.

I order tons of stuff on-line (usually without a problem), I haven't bought much from a shop in a few years now, but this Christmas I've had nothing but problems. Amazon have done the exact same thing with me for THREE items (about £500 worth of stuff). I never received the stuff and after complaining only managed to a weak apology (and no alternative) from some bloke via e-mail in India!!!!!!!!!!! TYPICAL.

After three or four further e-mails I managed to get a £10 gift voucher.

So, I don't know if I can be bothered with eBay, I'll wait a little longer and maybe write a further e-mail. By the way, what was the reason for the guy you bought your case from on eBay selling the case? Such a new phone I can't imagine he's got rid of it already!
