Here is a collection of stock firmware for Vodafone Smart Ultra 6. If you find any missing/updated firmware or receive any OTAs, please post it to this thread. Updates are available at ZTE support site.

Do not use TWRP to flash stock firmware! You'll find update.zip and installation instructions within each package. Use stock recovery that is compatible with your stock firmware to install (stock recovery images are in TWRP flashable zips).

	Hello,

I recently dug out my Smart Ultra 6 and wanted to remove CM and switch to Lineage with Magisk. However I found a lot of dead links and issues trying to do so.

The main issue I had was a bootloop on LineageOS 14, which the recommended fix for was to install a rooted 6.0.1 ROM first - however all links were dead.

Therefore I've compiled some links and basic steps which could be useful to anyone else who stumbles across this forum looking for help

	Directory Link Here

0. (optional - if you are using a custom ROM) Getting back to stock
	- Use your current recovery to flash (Smart_Ultra_5.1.1_recovery [STOCK].zip)
	- Reboot into recovery to run (Smart_Ultra_5.1.1_update [STOCK].zip)
	- Reboot to system and update OTA to latest marshmallow 6.0.1

1. TWRP on Marshmallow
	- Extract 'Smart_Ultra_TWRP_recovery[3.0.2.0] (qfil)' to C:\TWRP
	- Install MiFlash (Ignore QFIL/qualcomm flash image loader)
	- Load in the C:\TWRP directory
	- Plug your phone in via USB and hold power and volume down to boot into Qualcomm flash mode
	- Keep hitting refresh until your device shows up, then never touch it again
	- hit flash, it'll probably fail
	- keep rebooting your phone (holding power and volume down) and hitting flash, eventually it'll take

2. Backup
	- Reboot back into recovery (now TWRP)
	- Take a NAND backup

You can now proceed to install lineageOS/gapps/magisk via TWRP.

	Regards

	Hello.
I've been using this smartphone since 2016, I went through the official upgrade to Android 5.1.1 and then to 6.0.1. Long story short I'm now with TWRP 3.2.3-0 and Lineage 14.1 (Android 7.1.2).

I found some interesting bugs: one is that if you have low battery, about to self power off, and you switch on the torch, it stays on even after the phones is powered off, and you can't turn it off whatsoever, except plugging in the charger and switch on the phone again I guess, but I didn't try it. The matter is that if you let the torch on to let the battery discharge completely, and the light goes off, when you charge it again and switch on the phone you can't switch on the torch anymore, even tho the system claims is on, it doesn't beam any light from the flash led. The only way to "reset" this status is to open the phone, removing the back cover, unscrew 3 screws that hold a tiny bar and manually disconnect the battery (most rightside connector) and then reconnect it. Not even holding the power button helps.

Another bug is that if you turn on the phone, and then, without putting it on stand-by, check with some kind of cpu monitoring app the cpu cores activity, the less powerful cores of the A53 are awake and running. If you put the phone in stand by and then re-awake it up, they are always on sleep or "disconnected" or similar status. Even tho it seems that this doesn't affect performance, so it seems that they doesn't show correct running status but still works.

Last but the most important: the phone THROTTLES at room temperature!!! If you try a cpu intensive app, the cores throttles at 800 MHz or less, and if it heats more it goes down even to 200 MHz stuttering everything! I don't know if it gots bad thermal spread design or is it a thermal sensor bug, since in system monitor apps it shows temperature above 49~50 in idle while room temp is 20 to 23 °C and over 67-68 while running full calculations!

Can anybody confirm or else suggest me some solutions to these issues? Thanks.

Hello, i have a problem with bricked VSU6. I can only boot to twrp 3.0-2.0 and i can't flash anything. The error i get is that the internal storage can't be mount (0mb). I've tried any solutions i've read in the internet (wipe data, change filesystem to exte2,fs2fs and then back to ext4, trying from adb) but nothing works, always taking the "failed to mount /system, /data, /cache. Probably the phone bricked the eMMc? Also if that helps my phone have screen lock patter.

Can save the phone or i'm going for a new one?

	Thank you.

	Hello everyone,

I remembered that Nutsda was working on an Oreo rom but I don't think that there has been any update since last year.

Would it actually be possible to have an oreo rom which has treble enabled so you can install newer android versions without too much trouble?

I'm not a heavy smartphone user so my SU6 has been my daily driver for nearly 4 years but it would be awesome to get some up to date software.

Hi all. I am in Australia and a nube at this stuff, but want to learn a bit more about re-flashing ZTE Blade L3's. I need them for a WiFi remote project. My problem is that I have "played" with some of them and now find that they do not boot, although a couple try to start Android but only reach the next step after logging to my router. I saw on this site that there were posts on 5 different ways to complete a flash, but I can't find them again. I tried following the tute, but found no success.

I try to download ADB, CDC, MTK... My problem is that they seem to install, but in my devices menu, I have the dreaded triangle and exclamation mark and my pc (Win7 and Win10) do not see the phone. I have what appears to be a good working copy of Media Tek SP Flash Tool v5.1644.00 but it appears to not regognise anything due to driver issues.

Am I doing something wrong or just looking in the wrong place? This is getting so frustrating and time consuming that I am ready to bundle up these 5 phones and bin them.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I seem to occasional blue flashes whilst watching a video in the YouTube app in landscape mode (i.e. Full screen).

I did a quick search to find any similar options and the best suggestions I could find seemed bizarre.

They were something like the following:

1. Disable adaptive brightness.

2. Disable hardware overlays in developer options.

I turned off adaptive brightness for a few seconds but decided to turn it back on. I don't think I have experienced the issue since then but then again it could come back. It did only happen randomly and occasionally.

UPDATE: Without trying to fix it I managed to replicate this effect but only happens sometimes in the YouTube app when switching portrait to landscape when rotating the phone.

	Hi,

My Marshmallow Smart Ultra 6 is very slow, battery life is bad and I can't use AUX cables. I thought I'd do a factory reset but I thought I might as well downgrade to Lollipop. I see there are bits and pieces of info on the topic scattered around the forum but no thread specifically about that. I would like to ask for help with this and I'll collate all info I've gathered here so if anyone wants to do the same in the future, they have what to use as a guide.

	1. I have downloaded the UK 5.1.1 VDF-995NB01-UK09b stock ROM & recovery from the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 stock ROMs, OTAs, and recoveries thread.

	2. My phone has 6.0.1 VDF-995NB02-UK10d stock ROM with stock recovery, therefore I need to install the stock recovery for B01-UK09b

^ This is where I am stuck. I can see you can install a stock recovery with TWRP, but I need root to install TWRP, but I can't get root because I'm on stock 6.0.1.

Could any kind soul help me out please - is there an easy way out a stuck boot screen? I was trying to reflash the original Su6 rom from an update.zip and it looked like it failed halfway through. Then got distracted and came back to it being stuck on the "Powered by Android" screen. Won't turn off by holding the power button down, or with power+up, pr power+down, no response when I plug it into PC and try and talk to it with adb. Getting a bit worried now. Thanks

(am really pleased there's a modaco thread on this great phone, have been tempted back on the slippery slope though!)

Hi i decided to post here the way to get the latest update ( 6.0.1 ) for VSU6 with ROOT.

First you need to be root and to have Custom recovery on your VSU6.
Then download the vsu6.zip, inside you'll find the stock ROM modded by me and SU.zip.
Reboot on your recovery, install the ROM its going to take a while so be calm and wait when finishes DO NOT REBOOT.
Install SU.
Now you can REBOOT your phone normally AGAIN ITS GOING TO TAKE A WHILE TO START but there you have it Smart Ultra 6 with root.

https://mega.nz/#!kYYWAQZY!HQCa5pLwSc19tkn4bt-UgqaU_rFg3-sgY0tUwUmYO0U

I've been using su6 as a small tablet with airplane mode on except wifi, since I bought it back in August, but now I need to use it as a phone, as it should be, and mine is fully unlocked... but... 90% of the time I get "Emergency calls only"/"no sim" type messages. My place of residence has superb "Three" coverage all the time (if it didn't I wouldn't be with them.)

Allow me to clarify: BOTH these "Three" UK sims work perfectly in all my other phones. I've never used a voda sim in su6 (they never gave me one) but I don't want to mess about, so would someone be able to shed some light upon this error, please?

Both sims are fully activated and I've cleaned the gold contacts with contact cleaner very gently... NADA!

Any thoughts would be gratefully listened to, thanks :)

Okay, so I have a bit of a big problem.

I was downloading some images, when the screen got stuck for a bit, flashed some lines, then turned off. I held the power button, to reboot it, and it worked... for a bit.

The usual "Powered by Android" screened showed up, before a blue flash covered the screen, and then nothing.

Panicking a little bit, I tried to boot into recovery, but then something weird happened. It hanged onto the TWRP screen, before rebooting back into the "Powered by Android" screen. The next time I tried to go into recovery, it hanged onto the TWRP screen again, before now slowly fading out into black with blue colours, and then nothing.

I have no idea what happened, but my phone is rooted, it has TWRP [obviously], and the internal storage was almost full when I was downloading the images. I'm a bit worried that the reason why my phone is glitching out is because the internal storage is way too full, but without a recovery I have no idea how I can fix that issue.

Anyone know what's going on, or is my phone officially dead?

Also the OS I'm rocking, or was rocking, was the Lineage 14.1 one by Nutsda

Hi all. I have been searching for at least 2 weeks now without the success. I need the sd package to upgrade Ultra 6 from Android 5 to 6. I manage to find several but none of them is UK (Uk10D). The problem is that when I install non UK update, it changes the regional settings and time zone. This would be not a problem if I would have to do 1 or 2 devices, yet I am working on 30+ a day, and all of them are set on mobile Iron when updated. Again, it does not seems to be a problem, but when I install apps which use the date stamps, it messes with the current time and sets a time 1 hour in advance. I can get OTA update, yet it takes ages to download it. Does anyone have a link to the stock Android 6 UK?

	Thanks a lot

Hi folks :)

<s>I have had my SU6 get stuck on the boot animation for an hour now, without booting fully.
