How this is possible, what systems are used, what is the standard, all that is covered by this . This document explains about VoIP systems. Recent happenings like Internet diffusion at low cost, new integration of dedicated voice compression processors, have changed common user requirements allowing VoIP standards to diffuse. Guest squall Posted March 28, 2005 Report Share Posted March 28, 2005 This isnt really all that new, and is not currently available for smartphone It works by modulating the conversation then sending it via your internet connection. In most cases you need 8kbps, pretty much more than gprs can handle. Therefore at present you can only use this technology on a mobile device when connected to a pc's connection via wifi or bluetooth. you can ofcourse also use voip from pc to pc, using usb handsets etc. For all this to work you need a client of the device. the most common client is skype.
