Invalid Java Archive

Right after do an extencive search round modaco for the answer (and failing) I have decided to ask for help.

After the QRCode program was announced on modaco I went round to find other apps for other barcodes (eg semacode) and found some java apps that would do the trick. Great I thought lets see if they worked. So I installed them to try them out.

Problem: the default midlet manager did not support access to the camera.

Fine i thought lets do a search for other Java emulaters and see if I get anywhere. So I installed a couple of java apps to try them out but none were compatible for a QVGA screen nor had camera support. So I uninstalled the apps.

Now to the point.

When I try to install any Java app (either as the Jar file or the Jad file) I get this error:

Error

Invalid Java archive (jar)

Now my question to you: Do you have any idea on how to solve this (without a hard reset)

I have tried the following methods:

  • removing all instances of the previous Java apps
  • Renaming the Tao folder (so the program will create a new set)
  • Renaming the Registry folder that stores the Data (So a new set will be created)

None of these have worked so any more suggestions (or solutions)

Thank you to anyone that can help
