Any body still struggling to application unlock a C600 with the latest rom?

I have finaly managed to unlock my phone with out resorting to patched rom files. What you need to do is:-

1) Contact Orange Developers and ask for a Security level changer.

2) Set your security level to low.

3) Download BreakSoft Mobile Registry Editor, see below.

4) Connect your phone to your computer and run the Registry Editor

5) Change the following keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies0001001

-> Change the value data to 1

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies0001005

-> Change the value data to 40

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies0001017

-> Change the value data to 144

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Security\Policies\Policies

-> Add new value "0000101b": Dword = 1

6) Unplug your phone and restart it.

You should now be fully application unlocked!

I sent mine one evening and got a reply the next morning.

You need to send an email to [email protected]

Giving them the following details

Your IMEI Number, type *#06# into your phone from the home screen

Your full name

The mobile number if the phone to be unlocked

Your contact numbers

I really dont know, i think it would be unlikly but you can try anyway. They can only say no, unfortunatly the software will only work with the phone with the correct IMEI number so you cant even try somebody else's.

Interesting - finally turned up this eve. Wouldn't work on Vista but did on SBS2003. BUT I had the option of High, Low or "Security Disabled" Taking the 3rd option and looking at teh registry I have the following (in red) settings:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001

-> Change the value data to 1 1

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005

-> Change the value data to 40 127

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017

-> Change the value data to 144 4294967295 - yup that is correct!

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Security\Policies\Policies

-> Add new value "0000101b": Dword = 1not present

I then used spv-developers tools to unlock my phone and am now using my T-Mob SIM no probs :)

I understood that but using the tool it does not get added. What does this key do? How can I check if my phone is fully unlocked?

the spv-developer tool just patches your existing ROM - no flashing involved and takes less than a minute once it's app unlocked.

1. Low Security

3. Security Disabled

It sounds like when you sent the email to orange your EMEI number was wrong. Check the number again to see.

Thats the problem with the C600 with the latest ROM PHM Registry editor has been blacklisted so it wont work no matter what you do to the phone. The instructions i posted above should work on a C600 with the latest rom to fully application unlock the phone, or at least unlocked enough to run WM5Storage which i beleve is one of the best tests for weather a phone is propaly unlocked.

I didnt really want to use the SDA Unlocker app, i prefered to know what was being changed on my phone.

I did try just setting the security to disabled but it wouldnt let me run any unsigned apps.

I received a reply from Orange as below.

The application will always show 'security disabled' by default, regardless of the setting you have chosen.

Some programs may still not work if they attempt to access protected APIs but overall, most applications should install and run once you have selected 'security disabled'.

My phone wasn't responding yesterday so I tried a soft reset and it hung on the splash screen, after taking the battery and the memory card out and it was still doing the same thing I decided drastic action was necessary and did a hard reset. All went well but...

My phone is sim unlocked still but every time I try and install a cab I just get Installation unsuccessful! And that includes the Orange Security levels cab. Any ideas anyone? Sorted!
