Guest mintfresh
Today I tried using my Vario II to listen to music and only one side of the headphones is working. Fiddling with the wire I can get the other side to work, but it quickly cuts out again. So, what are my options to either fix or replace the headphones? are there any apapters so I can use normal headphones? Or should I just get another set of USB ones? If so, which and where from? Any chance T-mobile will replace for free?
Guest leinadafc
Howdy 1) Are you sure it is the headphones that are at fault? it may be the phone? Can you borrow a set of USB headphones from someone else to try, maybe you could ask in you local friendly T-Mobile store. It would be a shame if you invested in a new solution to find that doesn't work either! If it is the headphones... 2) You have a few options, I tend to use a USB 3.5 mm adaptor, as this allows me to use my favourite headphones, the drawback to this is that I can't speak on calls using the headphones in this set-up. The adaptor I have can allow me to charge the phone by a USB connector while using headphones. If you Google "3.5 mm USB headphone jack" this will give a few options to consider. 3) You could consider getting a set of Bluetooth headphones, I got some Sony ones for £26 or so which work really well - they block out a lot of noise. The downside is cost, charge time and I found they worked badly with wm5 but tried them after a wm6 upgrade. Let me know if you want more details. Good luck! Guest mintfresh
I can't say for sure that its the headphones. but my fiddling this morning lead me to think it was. Moving the connector and cable coming off it didn't affect anything. But moving the cable coming from the black box seemed to make it work. I think the adapter option is the way id like to go. Could you recommend which to get. Reading around the forum reveals that not all adapters will work.

Guest mintfresh
Hmmm, I'll have a look around then. Now I'm home I've had a fiddle with the headphones again. It seems to be the connection coming in at the bottom of the box with the button on that is playing up. By pulling it tight and wrapping it round the box the broken side comes back on. So its looks like its not the phone. So, if anyone knows the sort of adapter I need so I can use normal headphones that would be great. Or failing that, I suppose a replacment usb headphone set would be ok. I might give T-mobile an email or somthing, you never know they might replace them! Thanks to leinadafc for the help. Guest mintfresh
on the bluetooth headphones idea though. Are these any good, and are the compatible with my phone? http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/3257...html?P36=72EJ6L Not a bad price, and i'd imagine sonys sound quite good? Is bluetooth pretty reliable for headphone connections? Thanks again

Is bluetooth pretty reliable for headphone connections? Thanks again i got a set of them last week, the sounds good but getting them to stay on my ears is another matter. They are quite heavy and flop around a bit. Couldnt get MS Voice Command working properly with them either. I've just bought some Jabra BT320S as well, and I prefer them but cant say I'll be using either set a lot. Had missed calls using both sets whilst listening to music. Guest mintfresh
I've gone for the adapter route for now. Hope its the right one http://www.expansys.com/pf.aspx?i=145071 Bit pricey with delivery, but I didn't want to be without working headphones for long! Any suggestions for actual headphones to plug into it? Will be using whatever I have hanging around for now, but might want to upgrade to get a better sound later. I can always look into the bluetooth route or other options later. One thing I couldn't find out, are there any replacment headphone/handsfree kits available that connect via USB? It seems everyone is going down the adapter or bluetooth route. But is there anyway to buy a replacment that works exactly like the supplied headphones? Thanks for the help. Well the adapter arrived yesterday and works fine. Its a little big and a bit in-flexible, but overall its pretty good. Tried some old sony headphones i had and the sound is much better than the old headphones, and it goes louder as well. Very quick delivery from expansys as well! Guest Mike Blitz
I have had the same problem, looks like something happened to the wiring or maybe the headset connector and I had to turn it all sorts of ways to get them to work. Bought a new set.
