I haven't gone ahead and actually done the flash yet, but I can get the UMDL_OMNIA_v2.3.exe program to detect the phone by following the instructions in the PDF: Disable Activesync's USB connection, launch the program, pick the img file, turn off the phone, plug in the USB cable, and turn the phone on. In the activesync settings, there is a "Connections Settings" window that looks like an Vista version of the XP dialog Box. I got it from the Windows sync center menu.
