Just got off of the phone with VZ to fix my data. I had to delete my old connection create a new one with the exact same settings. Pulled battery from the phone while it was still on, put it back in and turned it on after 10 seconds. Then I *228 again with option 1 and soft reset.

Now everything works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY

Any drawbacks aside from if you lose phone signal, you lose gps?

First off,

I still can't use data on the phone unless it is wireless, checked that on the Taco Bell free wifi. BT still works, and calling still works. I needs to call tech support back or go to the VZ store (ugh).

The port is 8 with a baud of 57600. Before the FW update it would find this same thing but would never get a fix. Now the fix is almost instananeous and is flawless. Also with it plugged into the car charger the program runs at about 60fps in 3d mode, it's awesome.

Hope that helps, guys and gals. If anyone could tell me how to get my data back I get the stupid invalid password crap.

It is currently @

(my number)@vzw3g.com

p/w = blank

domain = blank

drewbax,

Your settings should be:

(your number)@vzw3g.com

p/w = vzw

domain = blank

im not sure if it has to do with the signal... but i think it may be that it uses cell tower triangulation to get the gps locations...

i think thats how the iphone works....

Yeah, that would be the AGPS part, but it still requires real GPS, too.

No it works off of real GPS. I am using iGO GPS software and it actually shows a sky map of the sats that it locks onto and give the coordinates of each. So I know that it is a an actual GPS and not cell triangulation.

If thats true, then the question is, will it work with 1x or only EVDO?

Here are some screenshots... I could only get it down to 100 meters while getting screenshots but I had down to 20 meters earlier when I first got it working.

Would you or anyone please help me out on this setting:

On Google map, I set the GPS setting manually to COM8 and baurate @ 57600 but I don't see any satellite at all (I only see as the first 2 images)

What should I check on my setting? any recommendation?

How about the setting from "External GPS"? what is the right setting for it?

Thanks

The update does a hard reset. I did not do one prior to upgrading if that is what you mean.
