.:stn:. 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Hi, if you like using Samsung Today but you're fed up this fugly samsung dark-blue-blured-pixelated background I've prepared a pure black one for you. You want it? :> ok so her's what you have to do, you need two things. a).A .dll file with black background. Download: http://www.box.net/shared/c8tzpgbhke b).Total Commander for smartphones (or any other tool for copying files on your device, active sync won't let you for that): TC website link: http://www.ghisler.com/smartphone.htm How to switch background: 1. Copy downloaded and unpacked file: "TodayContainerRC.dll" onto your device 2. Switch into "Life" mode. 3. Using Total Commander (or any other) copy/move file directly to "Windows" folder on your device. 4. Switch back into "Work" mode. 5. Choose "Yes" when Windows asks you whether to use TodayContainerRC.dll (the one we switched). 6. Voila! Result*: *should not vary from the one below :> Have Fun! Regards, stn Edited December 18, 2009 by .:stn:.

w64bit 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Thanks. It rocks. I kindly ask you to tell me how can I edit the shortcuts? Also, Is there any setting to do in order to have the screen fixed (not to allow dragging) when I have few items which fit on one screen. Now, If I have only one item on screen, I still can drag the screen. Thank you again. Quinn

Quinn right now the irony of it all.. it's better to get the latest Samsung Today from..i8000, yes i8000 in the newest firmware samsung release contains tweaked version with working rss reader. if I have some time I'll try to extract it. G.. no ROMs for PRO.. really strange.. the shortuct edit eiher by long pressing or look for that in registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Samsung/Today/Shortcut
w64bit 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 I noticed that the sensitive area size for the buttons/icons it seems to be smaller than the button/icon size. Or, the sensitivity is too low because it seems hardly to select them. This sensitivity can be increased or maybe changed to cover all button/icon area? Also, when select any button/icon, there is not highlight. Can you, please add it? Thank you. Quinn

OK, I see now tha't it's a lot more work after reading through your post. And I'm also on Win7 x64. Thanks for the reply, I just clicked through from the i8000 forum and just read through this one. You said you're on Win7 x64. so don't be suprised if you aren't able do to that the way I described, it works on XP but I had some reports ther's no go on 7 :/ But this only relates to signing the file. Yet I guess you may try the method mentioned in the link by w64bit just the part of unsigning and signing. Another idea which I didn't thest but is a possibility is to remove certs form this files at all. So you don't need to worry bout them. Anaywas, wish you lack on modding. LaMachine 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2010 I like this new background, but i'm not sure if i like it more then the standard version. So, is there a possibility to change it back to the old one afterwards? Another question, can we also change the ugly background of the Main Menu? ( not the one that you can activate by pressing the start button at the top left, but by clicking the centre button?

LaMachine 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 ther's whole tutorial how to change backgrounds, I put it on this forum. Yeah, but that's not my question. I was asking if, after changing the background to the black version, it is possible to undo this change again?
FloydPink 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2010 (edited) Yes, just backup your original TodayContainerRC.dll from windows folder. And if you want to restore the original backgroud, just copy to windows folder and restart phone. Edited April 4, 2010 by FloydPink
