Ummm where have you been? Try reading the giant thread about stalling in this forum but basically because that 130 MB folder is on much faster NAND so makes the phone a lot faster.

I've had the phone for two days. So i have been nowhere. Anyway. I don't notice big difference and 100Mb for APPS is stupid. That's not practical.

I installed this ROM r2 and i have a question:

I have MCR scripts. But what does the LagFix.sh do? Is it the script to fix the stalling problem or somthing else?

Thnx

It's only certain apps (some games mainly) that use a lot of data in that area.. I have about 40 apps installed and use only 30 megs..

Most is stored to the SD card but anyway if you haven't seen the lag problems (yet) then enjoy it :).

I have installed r2, but it wont let me use Swype.

"The applicaton Swype (process.com.swype.android.inputmethod) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.......Force close"

Going by the few threrads I have read that shouldnt be the case?

I have no ideas sorry. I know that the wiping causes many issues that is why I asked....

I have my own weird issues with the camera and gps...

seems there are some issues with either the jg1 or r2....

Sorry if this is a stupid question, will this custom rom work on the upcoming US versions of the galaxy S? (like the Vibrant from T-mobile)

No, you will need roms made specifically for them. This rom is made specially for the first SGS (the non-US version).

How do I uninstall WaveSecure? I did register for the trial, but I didn't install the 'uninstall protection'..

I used Root Explorer to search for WaveSecure.apk in /system/app but I couldn't find anything there.. Is the file name different, or am I doing something else wrong? Please help me out!

Edit: Found it, the file is called /system/app/com.wsandroid.apk

I read somewhere that the lag fix will make the device have the same problem as all other phones, which is low space for installing apps!!

Is it true? Is there a fix for this problem?

I had the same problem. And this is just a theory, but I think the download link points to r1 image. I tried the Mirror download link from ROMraid and now my phone has no problems. The mirror link image is also slightly bigger.

You are all correct. Now my phone lags......

Applied Lagfix.sh and wroom it's fast again.

But I would have liked the partition a bit bigger. HTC desires data partition is 150MB. And it is really fast.

Should be no problem with Galaxy S to have data partition 150MB.

Just a quick feedback...

To get rid of "multicsc : can not access to /system/csc/SER/system/"

flashed I9000XWJFF PDA, PHONE & MODEM

Then only Flashed PDA & Phone for I9000XWJG1

Cheers Rar9 Based in Germany

Actually, the problem is a lot simpler to fix. The problem is just that

/system/csc/SER/system
doesn't exist. The following method will work for any firmware release, no need to downgrade. To fix it:
adb shell

su

mkdir -p /system/csc/SER/system

chmod -R 755 /system/csc/SER

exit

exit

adb reboot recovery

And watch the copy action not failing anymore :-)

This is basically something that should be fixed in the firmware images, the directory structure that is needed is simply missing. This can be fixed by creating the structure in CODE_XXXX.tar

su

mkdir -p /system/csc/SER/system

chmod -R 755 /system/csc/SER

exit

exit

adb reboot recovery

when i type mkdir -p /system/csc/SER/system:

mkdir failed for -p, read-only file system

To fix it:

when i type mkdir -p /system/csc/SER/system:

mkdir failed for -p, read-only file system

first do:

mount -o remount,rw /system

then apply the fix.

first do:

mount -o remount,rw /system

when i type mount -o remount,rw /system :

usage : mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [t -type] device directory

Hi all,

Does anyone know if this will work on the T-Mobile US Vibrant variant?

Thanks!

You know of anyone who owns it yet and is able to test it?
