Guest toxic-hero
i'm using 2.1 since the first offical (taiwan) rom. it's been working great for me, modaco r4 and r5 are also great, stable and smooth. the only thing that iritates me are sense fc's that i'm having now and then, once or twice a day. mostly they happen when i press back button to return back to desktop from some application (mainly android market but also others). desktop than disappears and it takes a few seconds to come back. i installed r4 and r5 without wiping, i only wiped before flashing my first 2.1 - the official taiwan rom. i would wipe my phone again and reflash r5 if it helps. i just hesitate because it takes some time and energy to do it. does this helped anyone yet??? i know i'm not the only one with this problem and hope that somebody knows a solution for it. Guest Dr. dre
no, i don't use it. Try a wipe and then flash r5 because it is recommended to wipe before flashing r5 EDIT : Does it FC's or it just restarts ? Guest Dr Hotdog
I don't have a solution unfortunately but I am seeing the same issue. I'm getting fairly frequent spontaneous restarts of Sense when returning to the home screens from an app (i.e pressing back or home). These are not FCs, it looks like Sense is being quietly killed by Android's memory management while it's in the background. I did a wipe before installing r5, and I'm not using Autokiller or any other app/memory management tweaks.

Are you using any kind of task manager which automatically kills task when a specified amount free RAM is left, because in your case HTC Sense is killed and then it is restarted, that's the same problem I'm facing but I have manged to adjust the RAM usage so it does kill it sometimes but it's ok. Nope, I haven't even heard of that app. It is does seem that what is happening is that the phone is running low on memory and killing apps, but that's the way Android is supposed to work and that's always happened all the time. Android has an algorithm for deciding what the lowest priority apps are and killing them first, the real question here is what's changed to cause Sense to regularly be considered lowest priority when it wasn't happening before. Guest JadeMonkee
I'm getting this issue, too. Sometimes when I hit home, I'm met with the white HTC screen, and Sense has to reload. To me, it seems as if it's the memory manager being a bit too aggressive. FWIW, I've find that Twidroid is closing more often than it used to (On Android 1.5), ie after following a link (or even emailing one) from Twidroid, when I "back" to Twidroid, it has to load my timeline again, as if it had been killed. Maybe there is just less available RAM in Android 2.1? Or has the mem manager been set a little more aggressively?

Guest Dr. dre
Vr12 is fine, haven't heard of lockbot. That is because it's memory management has been modified which kills more empty apps than other apps. I'll suggest all you guys to install AutoKiller and set the preset to 'Optimum' and try using your phones after that :)

Guest
Add me to the list... it appears to be random and happens a couple of times a week. I press "home" and Sens has to restart. Using r5 after a wipe. Didn't experience this in r4.

Guest popq
Same problem here. Not FC, but Sense is restarting whenever I return from almost any program. Same is true for other apps, but this is the most annoying one. Having the browser restart on every occasion is annoying, but having to wait for the launcher all the time is rendering the phone almost useless :-/ Any hints on how to improve this are most welcome.
