Guest quotidian
I ran VISIONary on my T-Mobile G2 and went immediately to SETTINGS > WIRELESS & NETWORKS, hoping to find TETHERING & PORTABLE HOTSPOT or a similarly named category under which I'd be able to turn on wifi hotspot functionality. But there's no such category there. After running VISIONary successfully on a T-Mobile g2, how would I enable wifi hotspot functionality? (I'm in the USA.) (Thanks to Paul O'Brien for developing VISIONary.)

(Thanks to Paul O'Brien for developing VISIONary.) You can download the Wireless Hotspot APK from here: http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com/...2_0_5-pre10.apk Works fantastically well! Just make sure to grant it root permissions upon running it. I'm posting from it right now, as a matter of fact. Have my laptop tethered to my G2. :-)

Guest Towle
Awesome. Very glad to help. :-) I am very new to rooting, this is my first time every doing it so I know nothing about it. After I download that apk to my computer, do I save it to my SD card? And if so, what file do I save it to? Thanks.

Once you've used VISIONary (in the Market) to root, just download that apk directly in your phone's browser and it will install. (Assuming you've checked "Unknown Sources" in Settings > Applications). A shortened link is here: http://bit.ly/aeKjTB Hope that helps. :-)
Guest rra
Hey, I just recently purchased a G2 (just switched from BlackBerry) so bear with me. Obviously once you download and install this app while the device is temp-rooted it will work fine. Will it still work if the device is not temp-rooted with visionary? Will the app still remain on the device and work if you lose root? Thanks...

So any other app that required root to work could only work under this platform while its running otherwise the app would still be installed just non functional.
