Wondering if SLCD screens will fit onto amoled, bought for htc desire

Hello out there

Ive just changed my htc desire screen as it had a crack from upper to lower, and as far as i can see it is an amoled screen it was fitted with. Then i went on and found some shop who had some screens for Desire's both SLCD and another one called TFT, same specs, so i choosed the SLCD as it was cheaper and ordered that, then i fitted it into the phone, that went smooth, and now im rly in doubt if ive gotten the right screen for my phone, as i cannot get any picture or light on the screen.

When i turn the phone on, it shakes as normally, and the buttons come alight, but no sound from the start up as useual, neither will there come any light on the device further from that.

im just wondering wether it can be the wrong screen ive gotten, or if the phone could have sustained any damage as it fell down from the table wich caused the crack?
