Here is something iv been working on for a while now. Its a custom kernel for STOCK vega roms. It has a lot that the original kernel doesnt.#

(Not For CyanogenMod)

it has :-

-- EXT4 support

-- TAP/TUN driver module

-- CIFS + NFS modules

-- UTF-8

-- NTFS module

-- SLAB memory management

-- CFS

-- CFQ

-- In line with latest .32.x kernel from kernel .org

I have added a few modifications that should make the vega a little better to use :(

-- Latest AR6k wifi module

-- Tweaked wifi module to stop the module force unloading, this makes the wifi connect A LOT quicker after sleep. (also allows wifi sleep never with a bit more work)

-- Camera is now controlled via kernel sleep/wake (better support for third party camera apps)

-- Ability to flip orientation ( in src )

-- USB host/slave mode switching without flashing kernel

As always although i test my changes as much as possible, im an not responsible for any bricks / fires / invasions that this causes :-D

[ChangeLog]

0.7

--Patched up to .32.35 :(

0.6

-- Patched up to .32.34

--Not rls

0.5

--Compiled all modules into kernel (bar wifi and tun, these are needed to be separate) --Cheers the_corvus for the idea ;)--

-- Added Xbox 360 PAD and FDTI support

-- Changed to NOOP IO by default (this should increase responsiveness on out NAND)

0.4

--Patched up to .32.32 ;)

--Few bugs fixed in .config

0.3

-- Fixed All Bugs tha 0.2 introduced (as far as i can tell)

-- Host/Slave now switchable without flashing a new boot.img :D (See USB HOST section for info :D )

If you flash from recovery it dumps boot --> unpacks the dumped image --> add new kernel and repacks

This cant change init.rc

:-D

PASCHA I had this.

If you do the long (6 second) press to turn the vega off completely, then do the NVFlash recovery startup (back two secs, back and power two secs, back two secs) then you should be able to flash stock ROM and go from there.

The weird sleep bug that Bumble is fixing means you might need to do the 6sec turn off a couple of times before oyu nail it . I did.

There isa a massive CWM thread in the pinned:-

http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...he-advent-vega/

If that is too tricky then try out Higgsy's auto installer from XDA:-

Ralph

thanks for your reply but I abandon the idea beacouse it's too difficult for me and I'm afraid to break my device.

Have you installed the MCR custom ROM, and therefore Paul's modified drivers?

Because if oyu have then the higgsy installer is literally a one click process. You download his executable, run it and voila you have CWM installed and the apk to boot into recovery on your Vega.

It really is *that* easy. The only tricky stuff is getting the drivers to work in the first place but if oyu have MCR then oyu have already done that.

________

On the damaging thing it is almost impossible to brick the Vega. Worst case scenario you can always do the NVFlash process and get back to stock easy peasy. Really give it a go, your Vega will be so much better for CWM it makes it loads easier to do stuff.

Dont give up!

Try THIS approach:-

Select the Recovery Tab!

Good luck :(
