Opensource.dell.com. or github.com/djsteve/streakkernel (I think is the exact address.) It hasn't changed is it the one under http://opensource.dell.com/releases/streak/3.09/ or http://opensource.dell.com/releases/streak/2.06/ ? there is no new kernel at Dell. I think I need the exact kernel source version that is used on 1.9.1 , so if I get anything wrong, it won't work.

Guest saturn7777777
I didn't use your .config to compile but give this file a go, http://dl.dropbox.co...ock-perf/tun.ko I appriciate your helping this newbie. But when I "insmod tun.ko" i get "insmod: int_module 'tun.ko' failed (Exec format error)" That file is only 16.5kb. I see that most other build are around 160 kb. Could that have any issue? Guest menting
gpmg762, would you be so kind as to try to compile for me too? I'm running StreakDroid 1.9.1 with 354 baseband, and my .config is attached . I tried all the tun.ko versions linked here, and they all give me the exec format error as well.config.gz

Guest menting
Try this for 2.6.32.9-DJ_Steve-NTFS-KGSL2D-PPT-VOLBOOST-OC thanks. that lets me connect to my openvpn server without any errors. Something is still wrong though, either with my new settings or with the tun.ko (I dont know much about this file, so I dont know if this file can cause this), but I am not able to get an internal IP (10.x.x.x) from my router, even though on my phone it shows it is connected to my router's external IP (71.x.x.x), and my router's stat shows that it is giving my phone an internal IP (10.x.x.x). On 1.9.0, my phone's openvps status will show "connected as 10.x.x.x to 71.x.x.x", but now it shows "connected to 71.x.x.x as" (that's it, there is nothing after the word 'as') So status shows connected, but I am still not able to see my network like before. thanks ps. can't get external IP with freeusvpn.com's openvpn either. I used to be able to, but now it'll show my current connection's IP instead of freeusvpn's IP even though status shows connected.
Guest gpmg762
A post at xda suggests renaming /system/bin/ip to /system/bin/ip.bak, you can give it a try. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15835389
