Gingerounay 2.5 + link2sd = boot loop

Everything is great with this rom, I have just one problem so far: internal space.

Using link2sd leads me to a bootloop and using app2sd...

Anybody has a solution for link2sd bootloop?

If there is not a solution how does app2sd work?

I do a full wipe and install the rom from scratch.

I have a partition ready on my sd (1.5) for app2sd (titanium sees it) made with easeus.

I just have to enable app2sd from taboonay tools?

And then?

How should I move the apps?

Thanks!

The apps are moved automatically to the ext-partition with app2sd ;)

Thank you for answering!

In need DESPERATELY details :D

Am I forced to use ext filesystem on the external partition?

ext2? ext3? any details on how to format? any limits on the size?

Once done that...

I'll do a wipe all and install gingerounay 2.5 from scratch.

Then, as 1st thing, I'll run taboonay tools and choose apps/dalvik/data2sd.

Then reboot.

Then what?

I just have to install application on sd? on phone? do nothing?

If I have titanium backup restoring my apps to sd should I force it to restore apps to phone?

Thank you for all the help :)

You should use an ext-format. ext2 works, but don't know if ext3/4 works but the size shouldn't matter - 1gb should be enough.

after the reboot just install applications and when you want your applications on your ext-partition you have to use "move to phone" in titanium backup ;)

I used Amon Ra recovery to partition the card (0 swap, 1,5 gb ext2).

Then I've converted ext2 to ext3.

Then I've booted my brand new installation of gingerounay 2.5, enabled apps2sd and now I'm the happiest man on the earth :D

Thanks :)

Sad news :(

The phone quickly became ultra instable, apps were missing, many times I had to insert again and again details of google account and lately the very 1st android configuration screen is coming up at each boot :(

I decided to be very accurate and "clean".

I've downloaded acer latest firmware and did a total wipe.

Then I installed gingerounay 2.5.0 and then 2.5.1.

The phone was perfect.

Then, from recovery, I've partitioned sd card and converted ext2 to ext3 again.

I rebooted and enabled apps2sd (for data, dalvik and applications).

Rebooted once again.

In this last reboot the phone "implodes" and all the apps get a force close. In the end the phone auto/reboots itself.

Booting once again I had finally apps2sd working and freeing my space.

Perfect again.

After restoring a few apps from titanium backup (taking care not to restore apps so sd but to internal memory) and a few reboot the phone was stuck at the 1st android configuration screen again (the one where you have to touch the droid to begin).

On the other side, reformatting, rewiping, repartitioning etc etc...

When I install link2sd I just end into a bootlooop.

What am I doing wrong?

Had the same problem. You would need to restore the titanium back up files before activating apps2sd. Please, see this post from Vache.

Also, I stopped using link2sd with this ROM, because apps2sd does everything.

Thank you for your help!

So, if I've understood correctly, I can't restore from titanium while I use apps2sd?

hmm I enabled apps/dalvik2sd at first boot then my phone rebooted several times and then I restored my apps with titanium backup :) everything works fine!

I think that's the culprit, technolover!

I've enabled app/data/dalvik and it always ended with strange behaviour...

Now I'm trying with your settings and it looks fine so far: thanks!

I'll keep you posted :)
