I have the same issue. Nand Backup without EXT works perfectly. But when trying to backup EXT as well, I get the same error.

I updated my device just a couple of seconds ago to Gingerbread 2.3.5 from the Acer UK website. That file works perfectly, and is also correctly installed. However, the Recovery 2.2 does not state anything about working on 2.3.5

I downloaded Nandroid 2.2 ( first result on google, XDA site ), and added all the files within the nandroid-folder to the recovery folder. Then tried to run the nandroid.sh file using ADB, but I don't know how to combine ADB with the nandroid.sh file.

Any tips or advice would really be appreciated ! :)

1.) Download Root Explorer

2.) Enable Root Mode/Mount System

3.) Navigate to /system/

4.) Create a new folder called 'sd'

5.) Ensure you're phone has at least 50% of battery

6.) Reboot and try the backup again.

All of them I think.

i have the same problem but I think it has to do with flashing a rom several times. I did some research on the error and I think you need to wipe your SD card and do a fresh install of all your apps. I haven't tried this yet but it makes sense for me. I've reflashed my phone at least 30 times and I haven't wiped the card, just kept transferring my apps over the previous versions. I haven't had a chance yet but i'll try this weekend and let you know

With ext4 nandroid emits the same error.

The folder 'sd' is present with the programs within.

With Ext3 i've notr tryed

:(

I made myself and put the tar from EXT4 in nandroid backup.

I hope that the restore function.

I used 4.000.07 with Gingerounay 2.5.1, applied app2sd to move all apps, dalvik-cache and data to a ext4 partition on my 16GB class2 microSD.

I've done several nandroid backups(nandroid + ext) with AmonRa 2.2 successfully but that error terminated the backup afterward.

I've encountered that error before upgrading to Gingerounay 2.5.1, so the newer version may not be a problem.

I've also read k0zmic's suggestion, but my phone's file system has the folder '\system\sd' existing already.

Maybe the problem is about the file system format or the volume occupied?

Try go into recovery and go to Partition SD and then Repair EXT

It is not a problem to repair the EXT, nandroid backup don't manage EXT4

If you try to backup by shell you can get the tar without errors.

tar -cvf ext.tar /system/sd

Excuse me that have anyone figured out an exact way to solve this problem?

If not, how could I made a backup via adb shell alternatively?

I'm just an apprentice, I didn't mean to be offensive.laugh.gif
