Radio signal crashes all the time

Hello everyone,

Sorry if I do some English mistakes ;)

I've had an Orange San Diego since last June, it works very well, but, since a few days, the radio/mobile network doesn't work all the time. After the boot, I have my network (Orange F), but few minutes later, I can't access to any network (in the notification bar : network grey with a cross). When I forced to search a network, I obtain an system error. Only a reboot can solve the problem, or, sometime, the network comes back during a few minutes...

I do an investigation. According to logcat, my modem has crashed.

Moreover, the SIM Card looks like unavailable (according during my test with *#*#372#*#*), the app Sim Toolbox (Orange+ in France) can't be launched, and I have in logcat this message in (boucle) :

E/ ( 1263): Can't open /dev/gsmtty7, -1

Before the crash, I have all the gsmtty in /dev, after the crash... nothing.

I tried to reset my OSD (Power + Vol Up) : the problem still exists.

I haven't tried to flash with the Xolo firmware, because I don't want, for the moment, to brake the waranty (I don't know if we can go back to the original OSD firmware...).

So... Is it an firmware problem or an hardware problem ? Have you got the same problem sometimes ?

Thanks !

PS : I attach a dump file of my modem (but I don't know how to read it).

Check your IMEI number when problem occurs. I've the same problem and my IMEI number changes while having this issue ! By the way, I bought it from Orange F too and I'm using Sosh.

Mine went for repair and came back. But the problem still persists. The only change they added seems to be like adding a COLD_RESET of the baseband part (XMM6260) with a timeout after the crash is detected. So many a times after the baseband radio SW crash the radio SW comes up after this COLD_RESET, but many a times this COLD_RESET also starts failing and a power recycling becomes a necessity.

Hello,

Sorry for my late reply. When I occured this problem, I called Orange post sale customer service (Orange SAV), and according to Orange, my mobile phone wasn't detected correctly in his network. There was a problem in his database. So they updated this database, and after... this problem didn't come back !

Try to call Orange (call 3900).

I used the Gingerbread Orange firmware when I had this problem.
