Hi all,

Will anyone suggest a best phone around 100 dollars. I want to present to someone. I shall indeed be thankful.

Best based on what criteria?!?

Maybe it's due to using iPhone headphones but thought they are all the same?

Headphones should be all the same, the set I used had the 'controls' on the headphone lead as well, with a different sort of plug (same size just with an extra band on them which I think is either for a mic or the controls).

On an unrelated note I just went into my local Carphone Warehouse. Asked if they had any of the Nexus 4 in. They had but the girl said oh we have the new Nexus 5 in too. Obviously quite excited I waited for her to go get one out the back and she shows me it, the LG G2. HA HA. A gorgeous phone of course but it is not exactly the N5.

I would like to buy the Haier W910, buttt the specs of this phone are:

2G: GSM850/900/1800/1900  3G: WCDMA2100  ( Some sites are mentioning 900 at 3G, but mosts don't mention. )

I see 900 at 2g, but I don;t see it at 3G. So, could I have problems using the phone on 3G?

I believe that the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8260A SoC supports all frequencies including 3G 900MHz. But at the moment I can't find authoritative info on this. However several other MSM8260A based phones are listed as supporting all frequencies. The Qualcomm page also says:

3G/4G World/multimode

http://www.qualcomm.eu/uk/snapdragon/processors/s4/specs

I still haven't shifted over form my G300 to my Haier W910 but if there is some way to check 900MHz support in practice I can try that if somebody can advise me?!?

Apparently the phone supports the 900 frequency, based on this 2 topics:

One in spanish and the second one in french. :D

In every respect. Cheap but good also. Minimum one gb ram... Rom could be less, no problem... Single or double sim... Good build etc etc.. Thanks for reply though...

Hey is there anyway to download apps directly to the external sd? I'm struggling with the 4gb storage (having only about 500mb free internal storage and 600mb free in USB storage) because the free space is too small to download large apps or their additional data in th first place to be able to folder mount it to the external sd.

You might have a problem, depends on how your carrier uses UMTS 900.

Here in New Zealand Vodaphone have WCDMA 2100 in the towns and cities, and for wider coverage out in the country they use WCDMA 900, so a Haier W910 would work fine in town but data at only 2G speeds if I go out in the country.

I've looked around the web and there are many people asking, but no useful answers,

How can you tell what frequency band your phone is actually using right now?

@ frankish,

My mum just got a new LG G2, shes the most untech savvy person ever. Turns out my sister got given a phone at work and she sent it to my mum. I googled it and the specs are good, but no external storage slot and the battery isnt removable.

looks a nice unit, but my K1a is 0.1 inch bigger screen. (well thats what i keep telling myself)

At least it is not official miui for my device zopo zp950 plus. It's a ported rom and although I installed, will be having no updates like what the official ones are getting.

CPU: MTK6589 ARMv7 Cortex-A7 28nm Quad-core 1.2GHz

GPU: Imagination PowerVR SGX544

1GB ram, 5" and dual sim. Battery 2500mah

It came preinstalled with english rom but i flashed newer one straight away.

For the price i paid 131$ its really best buy right now.

Antutu score 13800, which is almost like samsung gs3. All new games like fifa 14, real racing 3, plants vs zombies 2 run really smooth.

Battery life is the best one i seen on the phone thanks to low power 28nm cpu/gpu. With g300 i got barely a day then needed a charge now, three days with ease. Two days after heavy use.

I order mine frome ali express (ebe store) and got free two screen protectors and one silicon case.
