Shendu is good again, after few months of bad releases.

It is a CM based OS, going open source recently.

25.06.2013.

Sorry folks, no more updates from me, my g300 is in better hands now :)

Latest release:

This one is pure chinese, but no chinese CWM inside, so flash it without fear! Flash gapps right after rom, replace calendar and calendar provider with those of cm10 (copy permissions), uninstall and delete few chinese apps with root explorer. ################################################################## Shendu OS 4.1.2 v0412 This release is multilanguage with specific chinese stuff removed: Download:

Overclockable

Tap 5 times on ShenDuMod version in About phone

and you get Advanced options (last one in Used tab) under Sys settings

Shendu is slow sometimes while unlocking (deep sleep - saving battery)

so if you want - you can disable screenlock for good.

Other stuff is fluent.

It has 120-180 Mb of free RAM with 10-15 apps installed (it could handle even more - I didn`t try)

What is changed/removed:

Removed chinese CWM and a line for it in updater-script

Replaced chinese calendar and removed few other apps

Set language=en region=US and timezone=Europe/Rome in build.prop

If you want to install HwIme keyboard - it will work with vibration switched off.

To be on the safe side - have a nandroid backup (as usually)

P.S. it seems that rom won`t accept pin locked sim cards - so disable sim pin before flashing

For fixing popping mms messages error - read this: http://www.modaco.co...60#entry2116678

No radio - you should search for SpiritFM radio

Regarding games and sound quality:

I rather wouldn`t tell you.

I am too subjective to be trusted.

Lockscreen disabling is in

Used -> Lock screen -> Screen security -> Screen lock

ShenduMod - hmmm.

Maybe it appeared after tapping fast 5 times on something else - maybe on Personalized -> About phone -> Kernel version

Are you sure that there`s no ShenduMod item there?

Lockscreen disabled, I found ShenduMod, I actually pressed on it, but nothing happens but a picture of the settings appear, all in chinese and there seems to be developer settings highlighted in orange but still, it seems like just a picture, like pressing on android version.

Try to set it as following:

Smartass2, noop, min. 320, max. 1008

Allow purging of assets.

Reboot and discover a breezy rom

with ~200Mb free ram.

:)

Don`t know.

But look at this after setting speed to 320 - 1008, smartass2 + noop and

allowing assets purge:

In gallery, I can flip 4-5 photos in a second - with all images clearly visible.

Not bad, huh?
