Guest PaulOBrien
Archos have announced the ChefPad, a (slightly) kitchen orientated tablet device. The kitchen specific features on the device seem to be limited to a silicon case with stand and a 'Chef App' (which itself seems to be a front end to apps downloadable from the Play Store). Archos do tout 'front and back cameras for sharing your latest culinary creations as well as video chatting whilst cooking' too but, well, i'm not sure about that one. Oh, they're only 2 Megapixel cameras front and back, so don't get too excited about the quality of the food pics! :) Kitchen features aside, the ChefPad is distinctly run of the mill last-generation with a 9.7" 1024 x 768 screen, Android 4.1, RK3066 dual core CPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. The ChefPad is set to launch in June priced at £149.99... to be honest it's hard to imagine the ChefPad really setting the world on fire. Thoughts?
