Here is a collection of stock firmware for ZTE Kis 3, Beeline Smart2, Moche/MEO Smart A16, ZTE V811W, etc (Android) / ZTE Open C (Firefox OS). If you find any missing/updated firmware, please post it to this thread. Updates are available at ZTE support site.
 
Do not use ClockWorkMod to flash stock firmware! You'll find update.zip and installation instructions within each package. Inside each update.zip you'll also find the stock recovery (recovery.img) compatible with each firmware.

Here is a collection of stock firmware for ZTE Kis 3 (Android) / Open C (Firefox OS). If you find any missing/updated firmware, please post it to this thread. Updates are available at ZTE support site.
 
Do not use ClockWorkMod to flash stock firmware! You'll find update.zip and installation instructions within each package. Inside each update.zip you'll also find the stock recovery (recovery.img) compatible with each firmware.

It seems that only the Firefox OS builds have recovery.img inside the zip. Android builds use boot.img and recovery-from-boot.p patch file. You can create a recovery.img from those using applypatch tool.
 
You should be able to install any of the newer generic builds with that recovery though.

Yes, I have written a tool that pulls any new updates from ZTE site. They get added to the OP as soon as I get them downloaded and checked out. I don't see any reason to notify about 'new' firmware. Just another crappy ZTE stock ROM and in reality no one can even tell if something is really changed besides the build the date and version number.

Lol, yes very unlikely. I'd be surprised if this device ever sees Android L of any kind from ZTE. ;)

You gain absolutely nothing by installing the latest build. At worst, you'll only get some EE carrier branding/bloat. Just stick with the generic builds, at least they usually have the most language support and international APNs list.

V5.0 running well on my Open C, no boat just a nice clean KitKat build. Not bad for what it costs.

Does anyone know is there any update for firefox os. The latest build I found is 1.3

All known official ZTE builds are listed on the first post. Don't get your hopes up ZTE updating this from Firefox OS 1.3 anytime soon. :P
 
You can of course flash an unofficial build. There's even a Firefox OS 2.0 build on this forum. Or if you've use the ZTE 'root' tool you can use shallow flash method to update gaia/gecko to latest nightly build from Mozilla.

French variant has ambient light/proximity sensor and there's something different with the camera (but it's still the same gc2235 sensor afaik :o).
 
Both French firmwares have been listed in the first post for quite some time...

Are you talking about the shallow flash or what? I haven't actually tried following that exact guide (there's no way I'm going to use a Windows flasher). I did try the Flame's shallow flash method on top of my 2.0 build (it's the same, there's just different gaia/gecko builds for KitKat base) and it failed to boot. Maybe because it's not an engineering build either, though I can't think of why it wouldn't work if adb is running as root.

Yes I'm talking about shallow flash, 

 

the script checks for adb shell id = root

 

fastboot works for all images but system.img

 

I'm considering seeing if I can turn the images into an update.zip like this https://github.com/martensms/zte-openc-rootkit and update over adb sideload

Hi , im newcomer here , and needed some big help . Im from Indonesia , i did fatal mitake not to backup stock recovery and ROM after upgrading to Open C Firefox OS , which is not supported atm in my country network , so after did restore to Android , the SIM Card won't detect any signal from any provider im using in my country. So if any of members here has the backup of stock recovery for Tri_INA build , i kindly ask for your big help to send me or upload it. I've tried using EU Generic build stock recovery and it failed to restore the Stock ROM i've got from ZTE. Or maybe there's an alternative way to restore Stock update.zip using any other way beside Stock Recovery?

Here you go, here's a stock Indonesian recovery.img. If there isn't an actual recovery.img inside the update.zip, you can still generate one from boot.img and recovery-from-boot.p.

You'd need applypatch tool, boot.img, recovery-from-boot.p and sha1sums from install-recovery.sh. Applypatch is included in all ROMs by default so you can do this on your device in adb shell or terminal session. If you want to do it on your computer, you need to have/compile x86 version of applypatch (e.g. it's built as part of CyanogenMod build). Latter three you need to extract from the ZTE update.zip.

It's a dead phone only able using WiFi.

Radio/bootloader firmware files are already included in the ZTE update.zip.
 
What exactly did you do? If you've only flashed packages in the stock recovery, you should be able to restore your device to original. If you've used a Windows flasher, you might be screwed. There's no flashtool firmware for dual-SIM variants of this device (only Open C Firefox OS and Kis 3 Android).
