I've been working on creating the basic device tree needed to get the latest TWRP built for our Honor 5cs and most importantly, accepted as an official TWRP recovery.

Until the recovery is officially approved, you can download a test version here! Flash using 'fastboot flash recovery filename.img' from bootloader on a bootloader unlocked device.

Flashed without any problem on NEM-L22 Variant. I'm having issue with the backup feature. Backup to SD card and internal both end up in failure with the following error:

createTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255
backup Failed. Cleaning Backup Folder

I got some other error on a different scenario but I can't recall it. This is the error my usual backup attempts got me.

Situations I got this error:

Backing up Data partition alone
Backing up System+boot/System+boot+OEM/System+boot+Cust

I was able to backup System and Cust partitions individually, never together.

You can also use the p9 lite twrp on the 5c

You might have better success

Am looking for the NEM-L22 ROM, could you share a twrp backup if it works?

thanks

Paul

I'll give it a go. I'm assuming you want the system and boot partition only, or others as well?

Hi, if you could share the backup of the Cust, Boot and System. Thats would be enough. The Cust directory is just the honor system apps

When twrp boots for the first time, it may startup in Chinese. To change this click here http://imgur.com/poviYBF

You'll get Failed to unmount /system error at the end. But its still a good backup

Cheers

Actually after reading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/c432-oeminfo-flash-twrp-t3384903

Could i get a backup of the oeminfo as well, might have issues with a cross-flash version

thanks

Paul

Sorry for the delay, Was quite busy. As you mentioned before there was a problem in unmounting /system but the backup is successful. I had to do 2 separate backups because the process would fail If I did them together. One file contains Boot, Cust and OEMinfo. The second file contains System. Logs included. Here you go:

Hey msaadn,

Thanks for this! Just to let you know, i have found an easy way for porting any of the rom that use the HiSilicon Kirin 650 cip set. Basically you just need to use the huawei extractor app to extract the boot and system images from the huawei ROM (update.app). Then with these two files you can just flash you phone using the fastboot flash boot boot.img and fastboot flash system system.img commands.
Currently im using the p9 lite rom on the phone, seem pretty soild. First off i did strip it down of any crappy huawei apps and install GAPPS over it. Haven't noticed any major issues. Battery life is about the same, 3-4hrs SOT and about a day and a half of on time.

The link below is for the extract tool. If you have any question let us know
