[emoji2] Happy days are here again! Marshmallow is better than nothing at all. I've resisted upgrading my phone since the VSU6 meets all my requirements. I even reverted to unrooted and it's been reliable so far. Hopefully they release it soon. Thanks for the heads up...
Guest Yepi69 Posted January 12, 2017 Report Posted January 12, 2017 I unrooted and installed stock due to the newest security update and using a 3rd party Android Pay app, but I knew Marshmallow was coming.
Guest Sho_0es Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 I wonder of any kind soul will begin work on cyanogenmod 13....this is great new non the less!! Thankyou for the info!
Guest BlueMoonRising Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 And the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 has risen from the grave :)

Guest Sho_0es Posted January 16, 2017 Report Posted January 16, 2017 OK, back on stock from Resurrection remix, hope this update comes soon!!
Guest deksman2 Posted January 16, 2017 Report Posted January 16, 2017 In all honesty, MM update is definitely better than nothing... however, I would have preferred Nougat considering that they are putting the time and effort into updating the OS anyway. This lack of jumping to Nougat could easily be connected to several reasons: 1. They want to encourage sales of newest phones that come with Nougat 2. Possible issues of being unable to directly upgrade from 5.1.1 to 7 I got this phone for my flatmate as I thought it was excellent in terms of overall specs and price (I would have gotten one for myself too, but I went with Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) due to it having better community support. Lack of being able to root the Ultra 6 however (to install Adaway at least and remove annoying ads) is disappointing. I tried every proposed option to root the phone and it's just not working.
Guest Sho_0es Posted January 16, 2017 Report Posted January 16, 2017 I found rooting easy! Temp root with kingroot, download flashify and flash TWRP then install supersu.zip :)

It would be easy if this phone would go into fastboot mode....anyone had any luck with that?? (Fsstboot mode)

(Fsstboot mode) If you've installed it already that may be the latest security patch that's locked it down.

Guest Sho_0es Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 Has anyone had any luck getting the su6 to go into fastboot mode ?
Guest Yepi69 Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 I don't think fastboot was never working properly.
Guest Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 Do I need to unroot this phone to install last update that is 36mb? It says root access detected but there is option to install from sd card.
Guest femilovechild Posted January 17, 2017 Report Posted January 17, 2017 Can't update with root I'm afraid.
Guest Yepi69 Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) So this new security patch update just blocks out any chance of rooting this device? If so, it won't take long for a new exploit being found to root the device, and with 6.0 coming up, its blissful. Edit: First post edited, take a look. Edited January 18, 2017 by Yepi69

Guest Yepi69 Posted January 22, 2017 Report Posted January 22, 2017 The update is more than confirmed, now lets focus on the little thing it might or might not come with it.
