Has anyone figured out how to make animated .PIT files? I'm really intrested in making a few, and sharing them with other smartphone users. Let's face it; the default ones are lammmmmeee. Not to mention corny.

PIT_Tool.zipThis is the old official PIT Tool :

I don't know if it works for animated gifs since I've never used it myself but instructions are included

Thank you I've searching the past hour for this!

I'll let you know how it works. And post my result of course.

Moving right along here... this is what the bottom of the screen looks like (the white area is for the photo.

Alright, it's finished! But it seems I have failed somewhere.

This is the final GIF:

...And this is what it looks like when sampled in Photo Contacts:

(Also note that the height blocks the number. D'oh! Messed up there, too)

But when you call, the PIT doesn't load. My guess: too large. If anyone wants to take a crack at it, here's all the files I worked with.

Also comes with the completed PIT, if you think it'll work with your phone.

Lastly, this is not my last attempt. These are not too difficult to make; I suggest we pull together and try to make more. This took about two hours of my time, and I would think optimising it to work would not take two more. I will try again with a diffrent gif next week.

...And again, I encourage all of you to make more!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have made another! And soon enough, I will have a few more done. I see no one has attempted to recreate caller IDs. It's unfortunate; this one only took me like 20 minutes! Here is the preview:

robocop.gif

The download is below, install the .pit file into the \Storage\My Documents\IA Caller ID Photos directory.

Just tested this one, looks great! Very colorful. However, the 'Robocop' logo overlaps 'Incoming' a tad bit, and it looks like it lost its transparency since by default, the header areas is white.

I'm going to go out on a limb, here... any requests?

Enjoy and keep trying,

Nathan

Nice work, Nathan 8)

How about a football theme - I'm thinking soccer rather than that funny game you have over there ;)

Along those same lines, I'm wondering if it is possible to bring over the picture ID's of my contacts from Outlook (2003)... i.e. something that's automatic.

Hi,

Did HTC offer caller ID to the C550? If so, is there an updated software somewhere?

The company IA Style (?) was bought up by HTC and the whole caller ID customisation thing was left to the operators/networks when MS brought out WM05.

So..uh...no. What you have here is all there is :D
