How-to: TomTom with Non-TomTom Bluetooth GPS

After spending a long-time trying to get TomTom Mobile 5.2 working with my i-Blue GPS and SPV C600, I thought I would share what worked for me.

1. Under devices, add the GPS as a new device:

- Name it exactly "Other Bluetooth GPS" (without the quotations)

- Enable the Serial Port service.

2. Go back to the main Bluetooth page and select Com Ports under Menu

3. Add a New Outgoing Port. Select Other Bluetooth GPS (which should be listed).

- Set the port to COM7

- Untick Secure Connection

Do Done to go back and ensure Bluetooth is switched On.

Run TomTom and under Preferences->Show GPS Status->Configure select "Other Bluetooth GPS"

It should now work.

This is intended purely as a rough guide on what worked for me so please don't post with any questions underneath as I can't provide further details. If however it has helped, a nod would be appreciated!

All the best and hope this proves useful,

JDH
