Guest Godfather Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 I have the Audiovox SMT 5600 and every so often i have sms messages that are blank. It's weird. I get a message from someone and the title is there but when i open it, the message doesn't show. like the whole message area is blank with no number shown or scroll bar or subjet title. It happens a lot. I erased all the sms message on the phone thinking that it had something to do with memory but that didn't help. Any ideas?
Guest Chiz Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 I have an SPV C500 which is the 5600 I think I have this problem when sending to others and it seems to be once I am over 160 characgters (into the second message). A number of recipients can't see what I send them. Not sure if this is the same as your problem but it may be of some use. Do you have the ability to use long text messages enabled. Might not help though and not to sure of the menu location at the moment. I have never received a blank message. Chiz
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 So you have no idea who is sending them ? They might be SIM updates from your operator. You could give them a ring and ask if they've been sending any out.
Guest Godfather Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Mine aren't SIM updates because the address from where it is sent is from MSN alerts and also some friends of mine. It's kind of random. But I have only gotten the blank on the receiving end never heard about the sending part before.
Guest HerpezP Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 I have just upgraded to the latest English Orange ROM, 4.2.1.4, and I am sometimes experiencing this problem. Has anyone solved it?
Guest Godfather Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 I have just upgraded to the latest English Orange ROM, 4.2.1.4, and I am sometimes experiencing this problem. Has anyone solved it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never did solve the problem. I ended up upgrading to a newer windows and later I got a new phone. But I did notice that it seemed to have happened when I had lots of messages in my inbox so every once in a while I cleared the inbox and the problem went away. It seems that it's the phone doing it, like it freezes while trying to open the message and doesn't finish processing it to view the message. Hope that helps.
Guest HerpezP Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Thanks for the reply. I think you're right about the problem being related to having lots of messages in the inbox - I have quite a lot too. If that is the case, there is no idea in me doing a hard reset and afterwards restoring all my messages. I think I will try and make sure I don't "push" it too hard when opening the messages and see if that works out - else I guess I have to delete some messages.
