Guest Klusek Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Is it a full ROM with CSC and other stuff?
Guest Tarqon Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Is it a full ROM with CSC and other stuff? Actually, the archive appears to be the entire contents of his device root, not a flashable file. :D
Guest kibiwi Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) Actually, the archive appears to be the entire contents of his device root, not a flashable file. :D to dump and flash the rom you can follow the instructions in this post http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-...ped-rom-solved/, if I remember well with that method is possible to dump the rom with only the language utilized in the device without the others. Guest fchfan Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Can I update firmware from B7620 to B7610? Thanks
Guest kibiwi Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Can I update firmware from B7620 to B7610? Thanks what?! if you have b7620 you have the armani phone which has I think another type of ROM so you can't flash a b7610 rom into your armani phone you risk to brick it!
Guest Memesa Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Have a look at this thread. It seems for NPS to update the phone we'll need a CSC with the appropriate region code. Edit: In case it wasn't obvious, the above thread is for Omnia 2, do NOT attempt to flash any of the files in that thread. So what's the phone perform like? Worth all this hassle to upgrade? :( But having a specific CSC with appropriate region code wouldn't explain why people with branded phones are unable to apply the update. Of course this is only true if the CSC is the same for branded and unbranded phones and if not, are there any applications available to change it? To answer your question; it primarily improves menu access times which is very neat but don't expect too much of it. Furthermore I did enable the new WM6.5 today screen on my life mode, but I really like the samsung today screen so I'll just stick to that one. The two disadvantages I encountered was that the colors of the samsung today screen in wm6.5 are quite oversaturated (I was unable to correct this with brightness settings) and I dislike the new lock screen as the one from samsung was more professional and clear (the cab from tylwyn gave me the problem of a black background). So overal the speed increase is nice but don't expect too much :D

Guest pms Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 just tried this as well but the updater crashes with a c++ runtime error. in the hope that this is an issue under windows 7 I'll try the same on my XP laptop at work today. EDIT: OK tried this at work now and got the same error, also saw that the update window mentions a DB error :/ I have the same problem now since installing one of the NPS new version. I always get a C++ runtime error with NPSDM.exe abnormal program termination! I tried 3 computers and the same problem happened in all the 3. Any ideias?
Guest Danji Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) did you really flash your b7610 with a CSC of an i8000? without errors or bricks? and what is your experience with flashing the original samsung wm6.5 rom after you have flashed the i8000 CSC? Yes, all work good. Flashed for vodafone branding. The difference is that now brand is deleted :D A small upload for you: Edited December 3, 2009 by Danji

Guest anshkhanna Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 you're right the tool will dump only the pda part, the phone part can remain the old version... This is the reply I got from Samsung re WM 6.5 upgrade....Mo%^& Fu^%$s QUOTE Thank you for contacting us regarding your GT-B7610 and the recent issue you have experienced. There is currently no confirmed update available for the B7610 to windows mobile 6.5. There may be one in future, but this would need to be worked out with the network providers. There is going to be no option for updating any other windows handset because of the system requirements of windows mobile 6.5. I hope this has been of some assistance to you. If you do have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us quoting your 210- reference number. Kind Regards Stuart Millar UNQUOTE

I don;t know what you wrote to them about but everybody except for people with vodafone branded phones and a few other unlucky one's have gotten the upgrade to 6.5 O.o that email makes no sense whatsoever unless you've been asking about something very specific.
