Guest jorge.mmf Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 (edited) I´ve search all over the internet for an advice but find nothing that can help me make the Omnia ring to a call received, he simply auto answer and i can´t do nothing, i tried to manage the ring sounds, autocall receiving, but nothing solves the problem.. I´ve tried to upgrade to the latest rom but the problem remains. Somebody has the same problem? In my point of view the problem could be in software because if i make a call and somebody calls me i receive a waiting call and can take the call or make a conference. When i receive an sms the phone rings... If the problem was on hardware i think this won't happened. Could a registry hack solve the problem ? If yes show me what changes to make. Yesterday i sent my Omnia to repair, today they give it to me but the problem remains. They told me that is the first time that had been notice this problem, they kept with it for tests and in the next days send it to me, hope repaired. Thanks Edited November 19, 2008 by jorge.mmf
Guest Neil5459 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 The first thing to ascertain is whether this is a phone, or network problem. Does the Omnia SIM card work OK in another phone? If so, there is a setting or physical problem with the Omnia. If the SIM is definitley OK, then put it back in the Omnia, turn on the phone radio, and open the dialler. Go to Menu/Options and then the Services tab. Tap Call Forwarding and then Get Services. This will show whether the phone may be set to farward all calls, or if the 'Forward if not answered' is set at a very low interval- you can set it for anything up to 30 seconds. Try unticking all the Forwarding options, then 'Send settings to network' and exit back to the main screen; now check whether the phone will ring; if not, there may be a hardware fault, possibly with the antenna.

Thanks since youve upgraded the rom then i would think that the phone's setting have been reset to default, and AFAIK, default settings isnt auto answer. so maybe its a setting in your network, bring up your dial-pad, hit menu, then options, then go to more tab, theres a list of network settings there and one of them is "auto-answer", try editing that setting.

Guest yawg Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 I've just unlocked my Omnia (haven't used it as a phone before) and I got exactly the same problem - it automatically answers incoming calls without ANY notice. It's like a damn spyphone - I have NO way to tell if someone just called me, and the incoming calls don't get logged in call history (outgoing are logged normally). I also can't end the autoanswered call in any way, it's like the whole system doesn't know about it at all. I've tried different SIM cards, from different operators, they all work perfectly fine on different phones. It also doesn't matter who is the incoming call from - same or different network, calling number present on my contact list or a totally new number... always the same. I have almost clear system, original rom (SAHH6), never installed any software that might affect the way the phone works. I also don't have any call forwarding settings on, autoanswering option disabled (I've tried enabling it with 10sec delay but calls were still autoanswered immediately). What can cause this sort of behavior? Can it be some kind of a virus? Or it's just a matter of changing 1 value somewhere in registry?
