Guest Freezy1982 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Nice one m0o5! Thanks for posting it here :) I'm interested in some points: - Does PocketShield work fine for you? Did they manage the Problem with the active CameraButton @ Lock? - Which PictureViewer do you use? - If your phone is switched on for 1 or 2 days with a normal use and you close all open Apps - how much free RAM do you have? - I have googled ComCTRL but I don't find some useful info.. What is this for? Do you have a useful link for me? :)

Guest Freezy1982 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) Also a good one fier03! :D You both make a good start to see, which customisations are possible and how beautiful our phone could be :) I'm curious about some new ideas & settings :D - No, no it's still there. Pretty annoying. - Resco Picture Viewer - ~70 MB free RAM - ComCtrl v0.6 by account2002 - Makes composer key act like CTRL http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-...s-ctrl-ver-0-6/ - It's a pitty with PocketShield.. So much potential... - Thanks for your tip - I will have a test tomorrow :D - That's really much... WM6.5 (my setting) is at about 55MB... It's still enough because of "no autoclosing" but I haven't thought that it is so much more :) - I see... Very useful one - perhaps I will try :) Thank you both for sharing! Guest daskalos Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) This is one tip to save up more RAM for those who are using WM 6.5 First find a program that, for yourself, is enough to replace WM 6.5 Program Menu COMPLETELY (take note of this word). These maybe programs depending in your preference: eg. If you wan't graphically pleasing UI's you can try SPB Mobile shell or WAD; If you want functionality, you can try Sense; If you prefer simpler you can try Samsung Menu (the T*Omnia version is great); if you want total RAM saver and plain try QuickMenu Any UI apps you prefer is ok,but make sure that the app you will choose can give you access to your programs WM's or device settings (this is important). If not, search and try another UI app. It is recommended to install at least two to make sure. If one goes well then you can uninstall the other (which serves as a fail safe). Another thing to remember is, the app must autostart after a reset or is remap to a hardware button for launching (like our Samsung Menu). Now if you have chosen the right app install it on your device. Again double check if it lets you access your programs and device settings and will auto launch on start up or launch by a hardware button. If it's alright, you're good to go. Now this "tweak" will give you up to 20Mb more free RAM, the only issue is, your Start Menu Programs (or in geek word: CHome or in other words, the programs menu that are arrange in honeycomb like position) will be GONE. That's why you need you need a capable app that will serve as a "replacement" for Start Menu. CHome consumes up to 20Mb so disabling it will free up memory. To disable CHome install the cab attached (BUT DON'T INSTALL IT IF YOU HAVEN'T INSTALLED YOUR REPLACEMENT. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED)Warning____Disable_CHome.cab Edited October 14, 2010 by daskalos
Guest 20x Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I am using Daskalos's megalited 6.5.5 23566 ROM. I have completely abandoned start menu, ie chome and I use just a single program to access programs Xtasks. This program has lot many hidden features if one is aware of, it provides perfect replacement for my start menu, task manager and even accessing control panel. It provides easy access to frequently used programs, plus has the ability to show history too. This I supplement with simple titanium panels so give a little glassy effect and asthetics. I have replaced taskbar with Android one. For dialer I use gold skin dialer (as shown) or a simple grey dialer. Theme I use is Aero Style Black theme. All the setup provides more than 100mb at start and 93mb after few regular cycles.
Guest Freezy1982 Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) This is one tip to save up more RAM for those who are using WM 6.5 [...] Wow, very good Tip, daskalos - this would fits perfect to your next experiment Version :) You said, you can root your new Menu to a HardwareButton to launch.. Is it also possible to root it to the Windows Button as standard in Registry? Then there would be a static replacement of the StartMenu to save more RAM... :) (Or did you mean this by "autostart"?) @20x: I like your style :). Have you checked out the different Skins for your Titanium? Like this ones: JML Today (by contable); gchris Titanium (by gchris); NeoMix Dark with FullscreenWeather (by sv0911, master_lie, bol422) Edited October 15, 2010 by Freezy1982

It was weather which I wanted and got in the simpler options. Panels by contable are not doubt pretty good, but I avoided for memory and sluggishness which I observed a few times. Gchiris is fine, but somehow my city weather isn't compatible and I avoided being stuck in deeper configs. So a simpler method is working fine. btw, I disabled start menu using "Arto Start menu Remover" and x button enabler about a fortnight ago and I feel no need of chome as suggested by daskalos. Combination works great. Edited October 16, 2010 by 20x

Guest sener.balci Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Let's focus on the thread's purpose. Unfortunately, I have still nothing to post as I only recently get my B7610 and I am still readind (yes, completely) this forum. But I am fan of HS++ too. Will post my config after completing my reading and selecting a ROM to start with.
Guest daskalos Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) @reinPinoy I did not design the GA Dialer. It's from GA B7620 ROM :) @Roisagi The memory leak are caused by these applications: - WM sliding lockscreen - Internet Explorer - Opera Also, if you add some things to make your device visually pleasurable (like changing to high res icons or using fancy User interfaces) it will also consume RAM not only with the application it's connected but also via gwes.exe.
