Guest drblow Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I have purchased & downloaded the app, but cannot install it on my Orange c550. I get an error message saying the installation has failed because the file is not intended for this device. It does say above that the app is compatible with all smartphones, so ... Help!!

Help!! Most probably your telecoms operator prevented your device from installing any other software but signed by it. This means you most likely won't be able to install any unsigned application. Can you give the list of progs that work on your device but aren't signed by the operator? Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 The error message above is not an Orange signing error, also I would be very surprised if drblow had not application unlocked his C550. The C550 is an unusual device and is prone to incompatability issues with applications and games. If you need help with testing on a C550 let me know ;)
Guest VITOkonstantin Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Drblow, can you give me your e-mail. We'll try to help you. You can contact me at [email protected]
Guest drblow Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I got the version you emailed me & it works!! I have no idea about the signing issue, but I decertify my phone immediately after every hard reset, so it shouldn;t have been the problem. Anyway, working now & looking good, thanks very much for your help! ;)

Guest mini_man Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 have you heard of a guy called gpcarreon on the forum? well this guy is really good with the registry and progrramming and he came up for a solution to map all the buttons on the phone!! check out his website www.gpcarreon.com and in the search engine at the side type in button and you will see.
Guest mini_man Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 btw is there any chance of making are own skins cos it would be nice to create one that goes with my mac homescreen??
Guest mini_man Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 gave up on the call button cos it stops you using the call history function and wont let you view missed calls. so i found it better if i remapped the home key. you should make a link on your website, or ask gpcarreon to customize it for you so people dont have to do as much techy stuff as a handy little taskmanager popup like this is really fantastic as it appears on the current page you are on

BTW, this applet integrates VITO TaskSwitcher and VITO PopupClock <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As far as I can see from your site ButtonMapper is only for Pocket PC, not Smartphone. Is there a Smartphone version? Jason.
