Guest latinheat Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a while, but now that I'm finally thinking about getting a Prophet, now's the time to post. My question to the group is what input method do you find easiest to use with the Prophet (i.e., transcriber, Jot, keyboard)? Anybody use a virtual fullscreen keyboard like Typango or SPB keyboard? Basically, I find the Wizard way too thick and so the Prophet seems appealing, but want to ensure that it's still very usable. I'm looking to upgrade from an SMT5600 that's on it's last legs and wanted something with a much bigger screen. thanks all!
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I use Letter Recogniser for everything, except passwords - those I put in with the Keyboard because it's easier to be sure you get them right I was using Phonepad for one-handed SMSing, but TBH i kept forgetting and using the stylus with Letter Recogniser anyway.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I use PhonePad for everything pretty much, except the normal keyboard occasionally... P
Guest wardy Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Pretty much use phone pad, I have hacked the registry so that this comes up everytime I soft reset.
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Ahh, did you do the same reg settings as in WM2003? HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP DefaultIM={42429690-AE04-11D0-A4F8-00AA00A749B9} Any side effects - I had problems with various apps not recognising the SIP after I changed it on my M500
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I set it using SKTools to be the default... P
Guest varialflip Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I was wondering about the responsiveness with the dialpad typing. On my X51v, I really have tap with the tip of my finger. If I just press carlessly, it won't register the tap.

I'm in a rush at the moment but will post later.
Guest wardy Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 (edited) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP "DefaulfIM" Phone Pad -> {51A2CB38-154E-4C92-A625-A83871C99EC2} Please be careful as this string name differs from device to device , but this is cool for the Dopod 818 pro Soft reset after saving changes :) Edited February 4, 2006 by wardy
