Guest mandt Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Spb PocketPlus killed my phone Well not really killed it, but it's definitely not the same anymore I thought I'd give it a try, Dear oh dear what a bloated peice of poo It made the phone so slow in operation it was painfull.......and took forever to start up Uninstall right? still takes the phone over three minutes to start, even after cleaning all traces of it from the file system and registry. The phone is running better again now, but the boot time is so bad I'm seriously considering a Hard reset (only been three weeks since the last one!) After doing a bit of Internet research it seems I am not the only one to have these problems, I can't beleive that a company like Spb's flagship product is so utterly bad :) Guys. stay away from it \End rant

Guest mandt Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Hi poochie, my handset is a Wizard in T-Mobile Vario guise I'd agree with you that other Spb software is very good I use Spb diary which is fantastic, Spb weather which has also been faultless and I'm currently trialling Spb Insight In my opinion Pocket plus is just far too 'fat' for it's own good, If you have a Wizard then you should have Smartskey (free) which takes care of the x button Batti (free) gives you a superior bettery meter then the Pocket plus one cLaunch (free) is more configurable then the pocket plus launcher Any serious PPC owner should/will have a decent file explorer (I use Resco but Total Commander is free) so you don't need the file explorer enhancements so in truth I wasn't even using 50% of the program The only thing I miss from it is the Alt-Tab, for which I haven't found a suitable replacement I did a Hard reset in the end, and now have a speedy phone again, for all the problems I have with it I'm certainly not risking installing it again
