Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 CA3 users, this is well worth doing: http://www.modaco.com/content/Windows-Mobi...ding-your-ROM-/ P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Version 3.080220 now online in first post. NEW in this build: - CamerAware no longer 'pops to front' when device orientation is changed and it doesn't have focus. If you skipped 3.080219 you can see the changes from that build in his post. P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Now also available via Online Update. P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Next build will (optionally) Auto Update the DB on connect. Think that's the real last feature before RC :) P
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 CA3 users, this is well worth doing: http://www.modaco.com/content/Windows-Mobi...ding-your-ROM-/ P Id already installed CF 3.5 ... but loaded CA3 and noticed it wasnt utilising it. So I installed the configuration too, and told it to use CF 3.5 for CA3. Well Im not sure if it's placebo effect, but it seems hell of a lot more snappy and responsive. Is it wise to enable CF3.5 as the default for all .NET apps?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 I have, and i've had no ill effects yet. And yes, it DOES seem a lot quicker than 2.0! P
Guest Dangelica Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 I have, and i've had no ill effects yet. And yes, it DOES seem a lot quicker than 2.0! P I did like you said and can really see the difference.. Thanks Paul Also thank you for making Navizon work as it was intended, works much better with your C3 than a standalone. Love C3 wish we had the notifications of the stop cameras for in the states. Lol I always run it when it's pink.. You've heard we have cameras at stop lights, and on most major highways to monitor traffic conditions. Some thoughts.. 1. You should make a feature where you can log what the odometer says say with a click (location and speed would then be recorded). Handy for when we in the states get a speeding ticket and we weren't speeding. whether you could use it in traffic court would be another story. 2. I noticed that it even clocked how fast I was walking. You could incorporate this into another handy program not for cameras but for sports enthusiasts hikers, bikers etc how fast, how long etc track your route. As my job requires alot of walking outside, this would be a winner throw in the Navizon and we rack up points along the way. Keep up the great work! :)

Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Version 3.080221 RC1 now online in first post. NEW in this build: - Fixed crash when selecting / deselecting Navizon display when disconnected - Added 'Tray Icon' on home screen when CamerAware is running in the background - Added 'Auto Update DB' option to check for DB updates on connect IMPORTANT As this is now a release candidate and not a Beta, it will no longer co-exist with previous versions. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you uninstall all previous versions before installing this build, and you will also need to reconfigure your options / credentials after install. Finally, it's worth doing the 'net CF 3.5' update detailed in this post for improved performance. All changes now will be bug fixes to any reported issues prior to a full release. Enjoy! :) P
Guest MadMatt2002 Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Hi Paul, The attached is the screenshot from a Vario running WM5. Hope it help! Thanks MatthewCA3_WM5.bmp
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 MadMatt: 1) At which point does that happen? 2) Please update to the latest build (RC1) and confirm the problem still applies :) P
Guest MadMatt2002 Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 MadMatt: 1) At which point does that happen? 2) Please update to the latest build (RC1) and confirm the problem still applies :) P Hi Paul, Just done a hard reset (it's a spare device), installed latest .net etc and RC1. It happens after about 2 or 3 minutes of it running. Unit is stationary, with a pretty consistent location. Screen.bmp When I restart CA, it has lost the "expert" and "Navizon Enabled" settings. When I ran the earlier version, it would pick up cells and aps without a sim card in it (its an unlocked unit), but this time its not picking anything up.... Will grab the latest screen dump..... Cheers Matthew
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Hmmm, OK. It will lose the settings, as it saves them on exit. Does the same thing happen if you run it with Navizon disabled? P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 So i've tracked that down to something that's happening internally in the Navizon API, perhaps when it's try to read something from a file? Hard to say as all the code is obfuscated. There's not a lot I can do to be honest, but you could try... - installing CA to internal memory if you are using a storage card - updating using my .net CF 3.5 trick (if you haven't already), check that in 'About' it shows .net CF 3.5 - ensure the Navizon client isn't installed as well P
Guest MadMatt2002 Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Hmmm, OK. It will lose the settings, as it saves them on exit. Does the same thing happen if you run it with Navizon disabled? P Just checking
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 With Navizon disabled it should be fine... P
Guest bigdish Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Hi Paul I am getting the same problem as Blewer when I try to deselect Navizon Auto Sync. I have downloaded the latest CA and the 3.5 Net r Andrew
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 bigdish, can you check your version in 'About' is '3.080221'? P
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 bigdish - found the cause of that bug, will be fixed in the next build. In the meantime, hit connect then toggle that option. P
Guest bigdish Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Mmmm tried that but still the same. r Andrew
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 It'll be fixed in the next version I post online (the issue with selecting Navizion sync or autosync options when disconnected). P
