Guest Barthlon Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Hi, Can the expert like Paul and Passoa cook a manila 2D ROM with the added followings: 1) Task switcher, FlashLite 3.1 2) Coreplayer with youtube plugin (the cab won't play youtube) 3) A good youtube player like the iPhone (youtubeplay can't not play a high resolution video) 4) Resco Explorer (free?) 5) HTC sensor support files for its games 6) A clock alarm plugin that sounds the alarm even the phone is in silent mode :o (never see a phone that can do that), and also can play selected mp3 7) A phone book app that can edit/copy/paste a pre-dial or dialed number (can touch anywhere on the number to insert or remove the digits), be able to save another number from the dialer to a saved contact, AND the most important thing is to GET RID of the annoying lock screen or "touch the functional keypad to unlock" the screen while on call :D , be able to delete any number with two steps only (select, delete) 8) Screen capture, RJV ring/music file setter Users added here... ______________________________________ Apps to be kept: 1) Photoslides 2) Samsung alarm but modified as mentioned 3) Smart reader 4) media album 5) google maps, RSS reader, podcasts, fm radio, video editor, streaming player _______________________________________ Apps to be removed: 1) Windows media player 2) Shozu jeah it would be nice to have cookers-on-demand wouldn't it? :P then i vote for a "clean updated rom", just a clean hj6 with samsung s*** removed and m2d added. and ofcourse the 2 main updates flashlite 2->3 netfx 2->3 and for the rest nothing removed or added (i actually use rss reader and taskswitcher). anyone interested in doing this? ;)
Guest auipga Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 not removing fonts and IRDA, heard it might give problems to sending and receiving BT files. - Removed IRDA files <_< so what? do it, or ask him! :D Actually I removed zoomer too. Just forgot to mentioned it... see it just shows no one even uses it as nobody seemed to realise it was missing... ;) you're right... i overlooked
Guest efjay Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Is Windows Live for accessing Hotmail in this rom?

I have this "Lite" version with most Samsung apps removed and another with M2D added. What are you referring to? Is Windows Live for accessing Hotmail in this rom? Yup, remember to select "Sync E-mail" option. Hey Passa0 THANKS for this marvellous ROM..... Anyway u can disable the samsung 'touch scoll' that gives that irritating clicks when scrolling? Guest ebliss Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 UC not working. Have to go to windows directory to run SDAutorun.exe to trigger the process.
Guest PaSSoA Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Ahh... finally a response. According to the author of UC, the autorun does not work for some devices, so maybe the Omnia is one of them. I will look into further. Thanks for the feedback...
Guest ebliss Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Another question, can I extract your files and then upx some exe before rebuilding it again? Will the flash be successful?
Guest markkohfm Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Pardon my ignorance, but what does renaming /My Storage to /My Documents do? Will the /My Storage be treated as program memory?
Guest starbuck123 Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Here's the Taskswitcher, tried installing it myself and it works fine. But remember, it's dangerous when driving  Hey PaSSoA, Thanks for the great rom! Do you happen to have the cab for Samsung Today 2 theme? I tried to use the one from "Dr.Dot" but it doesn't work. I think it was made for his cooked rom only. Thanks!
Guest Barthlon Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Umm... I have this "Lite" version with most Samsung apps removed and another with M2D added. What are you referring to? nothing in particular, i was just being mellow because Quang05BlkBoxsterS was asking for his own personalized rom. so i said it would be nice if someone would cook-on-demand. then i gave my own ideal rom, just joking. (but it would be nice if someone would make it :D ) my ideal rom is somewhat like your 2 custom roms combined, as you noticed yourself

Pardon me PaSSoA, it does work on the Omnia, I was on Dr.Dot's yesterday before I tried your ROM, and the last time I was testing out was UC. It WORKS on Dr.Dot's ROM. I just got my sdconfig.txt file working on my SD card, but after I flashed yours, UC didn't start at all. An issue with HJ6, Dr.Dot's ROM was based on HJ1? Edited October 30, 2008 by new2city
Guest new2city Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 (edited) hi, new2city, did Paul's Sunfon.ac3 works for u? i can't get it to work. yeah, I know, Paul's method doesn't work. flashing the CSC just puts the plumsip sip inside, might as well just put in the samsung panel.cab that is found in this forum.. Been playing around the whole morning, I found that the SunFon.ac3 is there for almost all roms, but in HJ6, it is not referred to in the registry and hence doesn't work on LTE01 as well. I just flashed back to HI3 to see if I can get the registry settings to work here... Hope it works, I like LTE01.. Got it working, just import the attached keys into your registry and soft reset and tadaaa we got Chinese fonts again..sunfon.txt Edited October 30, 2008 by new2city
Guest ebliss Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 In the windows startup folder, I noticed the default startups. Are they necessary? When I was using my O2 Mini, I removed all the default startups, similarly for my asus p525. Another thing is, I saw in the registry that you did not remove the link to start shozu. That is the init portion of the registry. I think it is "Launch140" or something.

However, I just move them to the Rings folder, just in case I need them..
Guest PaSSoA Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Good work new2city, my apologies as I may have missed out some stuff for the UC. Also great find regarding the registry for chinese fonts, I'm not sure if I missed it or the package tool just did not import the reg.

Guest PaSSoA Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) Yup, I probably did not cook UC in correctly  . Edited 1st post to inform users to run SDAutorun manually... Edited October 30, 2008 by PaSSoA

Hi PaSSoA, regarding to the chinese fonts, it was the fault of the base ROM itself. I got the registry settings from the older HI3 ROM, it wasn't present in the base HJ6 ROM as well. BTW, love your work. Looking forward for a more "naked" ROM from you

Btw, I've CAB-ed the fix up so it's easier for users to install it rather than import the registry. Hope you don't mind :lol:SunfonFIX.CAB
Guest Aroboy II Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Any improvement in the battery life?
