I have also switched from M2D02 to LTE02. Really liked the eye candy M2D gives but for all practical purposes, I need a Tooday screen that gives me more info eg more Calendar items, To Dos and Birthdays. The issue with M2D is that if you have an All Day item, all other meetings will not show. And this is a really lean ROM. From 18MB in M2D02, I now have 41MB with the same applications restored.

Thanks PaSSoA and I can't see any bugs in this one so far. Screen is more responsive with this base ROM. Nice.

Try hard resetting your phone and re-installing the SS modem drivers along with the active sync 4.5 and restarting the PC. It is what I do when a flash chokes up on me. B)

i have the same problems installed, and i have no problem..

if you have placed the 100000 songs on a folder that is used by windows to read ringtones, (example \my storage\my documents\ my ringtones\ then you have created the lag yourself..

try to keep in such folders only files for rings/alarms, move the songs to another folder that is not read by windows eveytime..

Just like to say "big respect and thanks' to Passoa. This ROM is the best one to date on Modaco.com.

Looking forward to M2D04 with landscape, but that's another forum. Until then it's LTE02fix all the way.

Can somebody, who knows and uses UC provide some sort of guide. I have looked on this site and cannot find anything of real use. Like most people, having to install and setup all apps after a flash is a bit tedious. I cannot get onto xda-developers site, so a link is no good to me.

Also, big props to Paul, the man responsible fo this site, and his ROMs, i used MCR03 for a while and was very good. Same as this ROM, but LTE is light and super stable. Not that Paul isn't it is, just more apps installed thats it.

Keep up the good work, and also all users of this site, keep posting your findings as this is what i, we and the cookers (chefs) need too.

I have not had any issues with this ROM, or any ROM. I use my Omnia like most people on this site and have not experienced any conflicts or errors or unannounced shut downs. Just make sure you hard reset device before and after flashing.

Enjoy.

any chance to find operator settings in CAB file?

I need for Croatian VIPnet

thanx

Yeah i also need to know what is this UC for? I cant even find where is the icon in programs or settings.

I use SBP backUP to reinstall everything including applications and its settings (licence) after each ROM updates

So what is this UC for? Unless it can speed up the phone, add more space or add more RAM or tweak the camera or video quality then UC can be removed in the next update..

dam son. lol

check out the free space !

this is nice, will install it once i reinstall XP .

Also lets say Opera was removed, and we installed a cab to the MyStorage would that make any diff?

I would love it if someone came out with a hack to tie MyStorage and the Roms memory together !!!!

This release seem not compatible with CSC i900DZHJ1 (Chinese input add-on)

But the last release (LTE02) is working fine with it.

After loaded the CSC i900DZHJ1, the WM is totally run out of storage space, and the speed is extremely slow.

Also error message appears:

Storage memory is critically low. If the storage memory is not increased, other programs may not be able to start. Use File Explorer to delete files that are no longer needed or move some files to a storage card

I checked there is no obvious abnormal files in "My Device"

Here the status:

Storage

Total: 111.55MB

In Used: 111.55MB

Free: 0.00MB

Program

Total: 97.27MB

In Used: 37.57MB

Free: 59.70MB

I desperately need the Chinese input but also love your clean ROM, please help!

BTW,

Your first clean ROM LTE01 also NOT compatible with CSC i900DZHJ1, can install it but cannot use normally (Can not activate), but at least no such storage problem though

Hi!

Which steps are needed to get widgets working on this great ROM?

Thank you

Alright- found it. This website has a .cab files for Samsung Today 1 and Today 2. I've only tested samsung today 2 with the lite rom- dated before nov 8, and it works fine.

The links are mid way down the page. In fact there are quite a few of the stock apps listed here.

yes I did try it too, but Today1 is missing the icons, only the text under it are there. however , it is working so I guess it is something to do with the skin.

Would you give it a try ?

The hack works on every rom. In fact, I have Passoa's 2nd ROM installed. The steps:

1) Install ROM of your choice.

2) Remote connect on your phone with ActivSync.

3) Apply Microsoft's "MS EnableRAPI" (find it on google) which unprotects the registry.

4) Get a good remote registry editor. I used "Registry Workshop 4.0" fro www.tochsoft.com

5) Find all occurences of "My Storage" in the registry. Mine were 52 (remember, on a clean installation)

6) Replace all occurences with "My Documents".

7) Soft reset

Presto!

Now, install anything you want. Bu default, it will ask you if you want to install in "My Device" or in "my Documents" etc. It will even create the "Program Files" under "My Documents" itself.

Edit: Between steps (3) and (4), remember to rename your original "My Documents" to something else... and after rebooting, and after you copy all Templated to your new "My DOcuments", you delete it.

I have also used SKTools to move everything else there that could be moved... i.e. Internet Cache, history etc.

No problems so far. I installed all my applications and everything works fine. Very fast and reliable.

A note for the "Black Screen of Death"... it occured to me when I installed certain programs (small utilities). When I looked into it and removed them, never had it again... so, it is most possibly a software/application issue, not a ROM issue.

Enjoy!

Hi is there anyway to save this process as a file or .exe so that it can be done rapidly after a clean install cos it takes ages editing it all over each time?

thanks

you don't really need to flash CSCi900DZHJI to get Chinese input. There is a cab for Samsung Panel in this forum.

UC is just a way to automate reinstalling the applications and settings after flashing a new ROM. It doesn't speed up the phone or anything but instead, help us recover our phones back to "proper form" faster from a hard reset or reflash.

It is vital for ROM flashers as SBP backup does not always respond well to different base ROMs.

hey djtosh, does this mean you have found a means to "simplify" the My Documents hack. Please share it.

I am a ROM Flasher, but do not how to use this UC. Do not misunderstand me, i know it won't enhance my Omnia and that it is simply for re=installing whatever apps you use after a flash. However, nobody can explain how to do this.

It it isn't too much for you new2city, can you post quick explanation of how to use it before and obviously after a flash. This would save me so much time. I assume that you have to personalise your apps even after UC has done its bit?

How good is this ROM? Damn GOOD is the answer. No issues, been on since fix release. Battery at 70% and charged it yesterday morning (after totally emptying it after flash-recommended). All good, like this stripped down, light weight ROM. Could be better than M2D02?? Any verdicts??

Thanks again PaSSoA & Paul & Secany. You guys do amazing work. When i can afford i will be using that donate app on my phone!!

Please, anyone, help with UC would be appreciated. This is main part of ROM, the least i could do (if i knew) is to use it!!

Thanks and enjoy life.

There is actually a whole thread by Sleuth 255 on XDA explorers

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337

but if you want a simple explanation from me,

1) it is just an application that is running at first flash(just like your operators do when they run their "customisations" from cabs contained in the ROM or in HTC phones, the extended rom) which can of course be cancelled when soft resetting your phone before it can even start.

2) For UC, my understanding is, the executable is cooked in the ROM but, it looks for a txt file called sdconfig.txt in the sd card. And it is in this file you put the path of the cabs in.

Unfortunately, I am not in position to give you the whole story. So far, I am only able to get auto installation for apps that I intend to put into my device memory ONLY. As I haven't had a successful attempts that the cabs that require user input during installation.

Here's an example of me auto installing Total Commander(cab is located in my Storage Card CABS folder. in my phone memory

LOCK:Enabled

CAB:\Storage Card\CABS\cecmd.arm.cab

LOCK:Disabled

RST:Reset

For more advanced options, you got to read Sleuths' thread..
