1. Extract an original rom that works on your language.

2. Copy all *.mui files from it to your custom rom to the right place.

3. You have to find the registry file that containst the followings:

HKLM-SOFTWARE-MICROSOFT-INTERNATIONAL

Here you can add the desired language code:

ACP: Regioal setting (Hungary is 1252)

LCID: Language setting (English is 1033)

4. Compile your rom, and istall it to your Omnia.

It is just an idea, you can try it! B)

Taril could you please do it for me? i really can't get it to work B) and now my active sync is acting weird because of some missing driver? can you please help me? B)

your rom only gives the english language and no option to change the language , and the active sync is working again , missed a driver from samsung pc suite after pc got reinstalled

There is a multilingual version too. You can try it in demo version.

I ask all the people who has the original localized firmware on their Omnia, grab it, and share with us!

I installed Hungarian version, and it worked.

So i install that and my device will be in the language i want forever or just a limited time? If so , do you have a free way to change it forever? (sorry if im being annoying B))

Yes, it changes the standers wm application's language. But if you hav a Dutch Omnia firmware, we can get the mui files rom it (10Mb), create a cab, and you can simply install it to your device that changes the system language to dutch.

I guess. B)

But have you flashed that rom, and your WM and Samsung apps are shown dutch language?

The only problem will that you install a std English program, maybe it wont work because it does not have any translation in the corresponding language file.

Any tip on how to dump the rom on my device? B)

1. Copy this file to your flash disk.

2. Create a 2577 directory in the root of your flash disk.

3. Run the file grab_it_128_150.exe, and wait for a while.

A dump bin will be created into the 2577 directory. That is the file we need! B)

I just get error, cannot create file when i try that program:( Is it maybe that my memory card is called "Minneskort" ?:/

You can try it on your memory card too.

Still the same error, and in that tread i read about that it could be a problem when my memorycard is called something else than "Storage Card" mine is called Minneskort and to change that i need to regtweak the grab_it file, and when i did that and tried it on my phone again it said not vaild ppc program:(

EDIT: Managed to fix it in the registry, Followed these instructions:

Rename this keys value....

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ SDMemory: Folder = SD Card

Then re-insert card.

Will upload my dump soon!B)

I got "There is no multi language image file in "Min Lagring" (My Storage) folder. You can download latelst MLI files.... B) Im on PDA Version XBHJ2 B)

You have to change the PDA/PHONE version. I think there is something about it here modaco. After the new rom will be accepted.

But I advise you to use the English roms (you mothertoung is dutch: german, france and english) until there will be a solution it.

It seems Omnia has several WM 6.1 language specific builts.

We have to edit all the languages rom seperately. Please, grab it, and uplad somewhere!

Am working on a solution! B)
