Guest kav Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Someone found how to fix this increasing ringtone when the fone rings. it was posted on another forum (samsung-omnia.org) and i thought that it would be proper to share it here as well. Go to HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\AttenuationCategory and change the value to 1 and you are all fixed. No more annoying increasing ringtone. Set it loud and have it loud, set it low and keep it low. i hope that linking to another samsung omnia forum is not forbidden here!

Guest Fuzzman1 Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I have Resco Explorer but where do I find the HKCU folder?
Guest scoiattolo Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 It's a registry key, not a folder!! You need the Registry addon for Resco Explorer... or use another Registry Editor
Guest HoRnEyDvL Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I tried doing this on My new omnia PDA :i900DFHL1/DFHL1 Phone: I900XXHL1 & its is not working there is still the 3 second gap. Any tips or tricks to get this working on my phone? Thanks
Guest kav Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I tried doing this on My new omnia PDA :i900DFHL1/DFHL1 Phone: I900XXHL1 & its is not working there is still the 3 second gap. Any tips or tricks to get this working on my phone? Thanks did u try any registry fix before to address this issue? or did u install any cab file to correct this issue?,, because if u did and u try this reg fix, when u reset ur fone, it will cancel this reg fix and therefore go back to the original 3 second gap. try uninstalling any other fixes regarding this issue, soft reset then try this reg fix. it is working for some people and for others the settings are reverting back to the original one. i dont understand why, but i tried this on my omnia and its working fine. dont forget to wait for a 20-30 seconds before u soft reset the fone. good luck

Guest Adrynalyne Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) Those are the entries on the i900? If thats the case then yeah, this fix may not work, because the i910 registry structure in that location looks nothing like that. It does work quite nicely for the i910 however. My error, I was in "attenuation" not attenuationcategory. :(
Guest NickCy Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 It works but it just stays in the initial low volume ring.
Guest Adrynalyne Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 It works but it just stays in the initial low volume ring. You sure your volume is turned up? :(
Guest Blobs Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Doesn't work, in fact made no difference on my i900 even after a long wait before soft reset. Re-checked the registry and definitely set to 1. First ring is still low volume. :(
Guest Adrynalyne Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Must be i910 specific. Thats a tragedy for the i900 owners :(
Guest buyaoxiao Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I dunno guys, before, it was a low volume of about >3secs.. After editing the registry in post #1, still same. So I ADDITIONALLY edited the RingPreview\AttentuationCategory to 0 now, ringtone after 1 sec, the volume went max.. I'm using I900 phone ROM IBUB1, shokka's ROM.
Guest barbedwiredave Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 what about the big delay that happens when a call comes in? if i call my phone it rings 3 times before the ringer comes on, but the phone softkey comes up imediately. so the phone recognizes a incoming call but the ringer doesn't start untill the 3rd ring.
Guest thetwiztidfreak Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 works great on my i910 THANKS!!!!! been waiting for some one to figure this out. now if we could just figure out how to keep the phone function from being shut off when the battery gets low.
Guest lastnikita Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 just to let you know that I don't have, and never had, this issue on my i900.. if I can be of any help let me know.
Guest koczkodan65 Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Anyone figure how fix that Increasing ringtone on i900 ?? :(
Guest kav Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 after so many negative feedbacks concerning this fix, i was wandering if i was mistaken that it is actually working on my omnia, i restored the original value in the registry and i called my fone nearly 50 times and measured the seconds that passes between the first sound to the max volume, without the fix it took on average 3.2 seconds for the volume to get to a max, but with the fix, it took around 1.1 to 1.3 seconds to get to a max, and its was not like the original slowly increasing volume, but low at first then just max volume all of a sudden. i think this is why i thought that it was working fine on my fone, it became loud faster than before but still not instantly max volume. but hey,, 3.2 seconds to 1.3 is still something! apparently as far as i read, in almost all the i910 omnias, it is resolving this delay issue
