ActiveSync 4.2 not working on WM5.0 device over USB Serial Function driver

Help Needed frm all WM Smartphone Punters,

I am stuck with problem of not being able to make activesync working on WM5.0 device over USB1.1.

The USB drvr(Serial Function Class) is working on WinCE5.0 on the same device.

Note: No change in Deskop Configuration from WindowsCE to WM.

Even then no success.

I have made sure that all the settings are done as per the requirement.

USB Mass Storage functionality is working on WM.But for the same USB driver the serial function class is now working for ActiveSync.

I can`t make out from the wcescomm.log file.No error or anything.

Even the device shows no error, just no activity happens once you plug the USB cable.

If i manually run repllog.exe on device , it just loads and unloads without throwing any error.

I am not sure abt the RAS entries.I got this entry from the internet.

Pls note again that same entries are working on WinCE5.0.

Any more information or pointer is most welcome.

Please reply ASAP as i have already spent lots of time on solving this issue.

Check your firewall settings, as all Smartphones are USB 1.1 and not USB 2 so it's unlikely to be an Activesync issue as such.

What OS do you have on your PC and what Mobile device are you trying to sync?

Infact i have disabled windows firewall and don`t have any other firewall on PC. PC is having XP with SP2 and device is properietry device of my company which is still in development phase. On the same device we have USB woking fully on WinCE. On WM we have ActiveSync working over IRDA. But for ActiveSync over USB we are facing issues with no concrete errors. Thats y i need help from SmartPhone punters.

As I am not a developer I can only suggest standard cures.

As Activesync can be irratic a couple of other things to try is to either delete the partnership and create a new one. The other option is to completely uninstall Activesync and reinstall.

Connection problems are common and can easily happen to devices that have sync'ed before without a problem.

I have seen this quite a few times myself.

I have mostly followed the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the forums.But with no success.No partnership is there to be deleted.Infact i have reinstalled AS many a times to make it work.2 days back i had reformatted my machine also not because of this reason only but had some problem. Even after doing so many steps no progress.

I am not getiing any error which could help me in making progress.

If you know ne pointer who can help me out in this would be really helpful.
