Hi Secany,

I have just donated. The confirmation number is 7FA83571VB3118003. I also would like to be on your magic list. I am interested in English and Polish ROMs. My e-mail address is: rjung{at}gazeta{dot}pl.

Thanks Secany, great release!

Impressions so far are positive, even though I don't notice any major improvement in performance (was on DTHJ5 and found that already a very good performance!) EDIT: after a bit more use, it looks like it IS snappier after all!!!

2 nice improvements I have noticed so far:

- PowerCalc (so the scientific calculator) is BACK!

- Enhanced GPS/XTRA has been improved a lot, with many more options now! (like automatically updating when file expired, or when connected through Active Sync or Wifi) THIS IS USEFUL!!!!

Unfortunately the geotagging functionality still sucks, as you need to wait for the fix before the camera starts... who at Samsung thought this was a good idea??? They had it working fine in older ROM's!!!

EDIT:

- maybe too soon to tell for sure, but Wifi seems better (reconnects automatically more easily after standby, which used to be an issue for me)

- as indicated in the log, autorotation now also works when backlight is dimmed

Please send it in parts for me, to be used by GrandPrix if possible. I have no access to a reliable XP machine, so stuck with Vista. I sent details in mail yesterday.

BTW, if you have new manual for new GP updater, it is also highly appreciated. B)

i would love to receive in parts to be used by grand prix. would be glad if possible

Secany is releasing the ROMs first to those who donate, he releases the links later publicly as has been seen on this thread.

Maybe it's not how I would have done things, but I'm ok with it. And sure, he's a nice guy, trying to help every1 here... (And, it's understandable that he also has need for money, to cover expenses or what)

But the thing is, there's no word for Turkish rom yet... It's been a very long while and he'd said he only wanted to give his friend "a head start" (a service center in Dubai?)...

It's sad that almost every other lang. gets a "few" firmware "releases" (yep, I know) as opposed to us, Turkish fans, get none. It's really sad.

Anyway, I'll keep looking and waiting with patience. (I'd pay the service center guy to make it faster, if I would ever pay for it. I'm sorry, I paid more than enough for this gadget)

Where did you find the changelog? I see nothing about this in the links I received. Was not the ROM RAR file either...

Thanks.

Hello Secany. Please let me know the minimum compulsory donation amount, to ensure you will not return my payment a second time.

ok, so you donated like 1 cent, or you are just taking a piss at secany...

noone can tell exactly what everybody has been donating, but as i see it secany is welcoming everybody to the list. it's just a gesture of appreciation.

the only thing i have to complain about this device is that touch player is unable to play especially "100mb" mp3 (remix sets for e.g. ) without them starting skiping when you do something a just a little CPU hungry.

Of course coreplayer works just fine except when you press power button the music stops playing if you are not using a2dp and if you don't press the power the light does not go off.. pocketplayer "works" ok but avrcp does not fast forward or rewind and it makes the device "slow", you can notice it slow while typing an sms and coreplayer does not make it slow, but again i can't power off the device. This is the only VERY annoying thing I can find on this device. A simple mp3 skips...ok...this is just plain stupid for a 624mhz INTEL cpu. If only touch player worked OK it would be quite nice. Why can't it just work ???? ... man... Windows media player has the same problem of pocketplayer, it makes the device slow :S It really seams some kind of buffer problem that touch player has or a really low cpu priority coded to save battery but that makes it unusable while you want to listen to smt and at the same time do smt like install/test some programs.

I really hopped that this new k1 rom would have fixed touch player mp3 skiping problem B) I sent secany a pm describing the problem and sent him an email but had no reply.

Has anybody got an idea how to fix this ?? to produce the problem just open some "big" mp3 on touch player and then install smt like framework 3.5 !! the mp3 will start skiping :S

Secany , again, if you have the connection to forward this problem to samsung , lots of users would really be grateful, including me !!

Thank you

EDIT - The new xtra gps functions are really welcome.

I flashed to the new DXHK1 this morning and so far so good.

The first thing I noticed is a significant drop in program memory. From 90mb in HTHJ9 to 86mb... But I found out there are addtional programs such as dice game, new functions, etc.

The touch player's album art flow is excellent. Smooth and now it is actually usable. If only it spuports wma audito files....

Battery life... I don't know yet. Seems OK.

So, it seems to have many improvements.

Thanks Secany!

Some more feedback:

- the new Album art navigation looks nicer (though it crashed on me the 1st time... probably I should have exited the program first after updating my huge library to get things settled)

- Wifi goes definitely much better... and much faster! (before my 3G was faster than my Wifi even though I have a 10Mb connection)

- GPS (with XTRA) is lighting fast... when I switched it on in the car this morning (after having had the first fix last night), driving 100kmh or so, it got a fix within 5 seconds or so...

To me, this is the release so far with the biggest amount of improvements! Keep them coming SAMSUNG! (and Ken B) )
