Guest akeem Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Hi all, I've been using this fantastic phone for a month until suddenly today the joystick does not work as normal . I can bring it down or right but not up or left..that means I can't select item (of course I can just hit the number) which brings me to the next problem: I can't read my sms!... Is this a hardware problem or a hard setting can solve this problem? Thanks for any advice guys...!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Welcome to the site :) From what you discribe it sounds more like a hardware problem :? There have not been as many problems reported for this model of phone compaired to earlier verions like the SPV. The only real way to confirm the problem is hardware is to do a Hard Reset to take the phone back to it's factory settings. This will wipe all data you have put on the phone but if the problem remains then it is fairly certain that it's not software related.
Guest akeem Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Thanks for the advice. Know what...? After 3 days of having the problem, I tried to delete as many softwares that had been downloaded to the phone as possible, and suddenly it works again! The joystick works and the sound of the clicking comes back...any explanation?...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Sounds like the phone has done a partial reset and returned it back to some of it's default settings. If this is the case I would advise you do need to do a Hard Reset now.
Guest jimbarlow Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Thanks for the advice. Know what...? After 3 days of having the problem, I tried to delete as many softwares that had been downloaded to the phone as possible, and suddenly it works again! The joystick works and the sound of the clicking comes back...any explanation?... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i have exactly same problem. do u know how to hard reset or soft reset the xphone II?? thanks.
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 'Soft reset' simply means to turn off/on. I assume that the Xphone hard reset instructions are the same as the SPV range. Have a read of this thread : http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=198362
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 It should be the same way as the C500 Have a look at the sticky post in this section for instructions on how to do this.
