Guest Swagger Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Read this on another thread: This tweak changes the order in which you have the programs listed in the Start > Programs menu. Open up RegEdit, and browse to: HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftShellStartMenu Select Values Select Order In the Value data you can now change the order of the links to be displayed in the start menu. The easy way to find the link names is to use a utility like All Explorer, SmartExplorer, or even browse the phone's file system using your desktop computer. Look at the files in IPSMWindowsStart Menu. Don't forget to add '.lnk' at the end of the program name, or it won't work. If you want any of your own links, just make sure you put them in the IPSMWindowsStart Menu folder. You must reboot your phone for the changes to take effect. I am a newbie, so my questions may seem trivial: 1. Where is the RegEdit? 2. Can I do the changes straight on the phone or do I need my PC? 3. Is the abovementioned procedure relatively straightforward, or do I best use Jeyo? Thanks.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 1, PHM Reg Edit can be found here http://www.phm.lu/Products/Smartphone/RegEdit/ 2, On the phone using said application. 3, It is fairly easy to do but only use what is written in the guide. Playing with other registry settings can cause problems.
Guest lukeap69 Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 hi swagger, you can also use jeyo personalizer if you are not familiar with registry editing. lukeap 69
Guest Confucious Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Or Smartione which gives you more controle and has a built in reg editor.
Guest lighthouse82 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 The good thing about smartione is that you can do it from your PC, over activesync. download it here: http://www.metropical.com/SmartioneInstall.exe
Guest Swagger Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Or Smartione which gives you more controle and has a built in reg editor. Would you say its easy to use? Bear in mind I'm a newbie.
Guest Confucious Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 To re-order the start menu it's just drag and drop in the order you want. It has far more powerful tools that you can start to use as you get more onfident but is also simple enough for a beginner - I think! Let us know how you get on with it.
Guest theonlyone Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 The good thing about smartione is that you can do it from your PC, over activesync. download it here: http://www.metropical.com/SmartioneInstall.exe <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This file is no longer available...anyone have it? thanks!!
