Guest paul34 Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Since my carrier's (Cingular's) minute tracking is horrendous and I am trying to decide between S60 and MS Smartphone: I was wondering whether a program which has the same (or near same) functionality as the program for S60, Dashfly Minutes, exists for the MS SP platform. It would have to keep track of call usage, SMS, MMS, and internet usage, and be able to keep track of it in relation to your calling plan, and calculate minutes like the carriers do. And of course the other functionality such as Dasfhly Minutes offers... So far all I've found on the forums is a program called "iMate." Unfortunately I can't find anything on it, even tried a search on Google. So does this kind of program exist for the Smartphone platform? Thanks...
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 There are 3 monitoring programs I know of for the MS-Smartphone: 1. ALL-Locations GPRS Trafic Counter (shareware) - http://www.smartphone.net/software_detail....teid=279&id=282 2. Spb GPRS Monitor (shareware) - http://www.smartphone.net/software_detail....teid=279&id=723 3. twyx Imeter (freeware) - http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...ighlight=imeter BTW, Welcome to MoDaCo :)
Guest chucky.egg Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 iMeter only works on Smartphone 2002 though doesn't it? AFAIK there is *no* app that tracks minutes/sms/mms used ALL-Locations GPRS monitor is nice, it's what I've got, but if I hadn't already paid for it I would go for SPB now because of the Homescreen plugin.
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 I really wish someone would pick up IMeter and make it work for C500 .. it was an awesome program!!!!
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Me too, I have tried the others and they dont compare to IMeter. I did read somewhere else that the original V1.0a will work on the E200 but it is in French, but I cant find it anywhere  If anyone has IMeter V1.0a could they post or PM, the software is that good I dont mind it being in French...
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Sorry, error Have looked for v1a with no success..
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Here is IMeter v1.0a...(English patch included). I tried it prior to posting but it keeps on blinking 12/24/2004 blah blah blah.IMeter.1.0a.zip
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Fantastic, has anyone been able to contact Twyx as he does not appear to respond to emails. But I for one wouldn't mind paying for IMeter if it was made fully E200/C500 compatible.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Twyx replied to an email I sent him a while back, and I got the impression he wouldn't be working on Smartphone apps any more. :)
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Now that's a shame :) Is there anyone out there brave enough to pickup where Twyx left off :?: surely there cant be that much to do to make it work with Windows Mobile 2003 etc.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 It is a shame. Unfortunately the question has been asked many times before without response. I would, but sadly (in many respects) I'm an accountant not a programmer.
Guest paul34 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Thanks all for the replies :). Are there any MoDaCo members who are skilled at programming MS Smartphone apps? If so, maybe we could start some type of open-source program so that a lot of the programmers could collaborate on it - because it seems no one thinks there's a demand for this type of program .
Guest drblow Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Is anybody using the SPB gprs monitor? I have tried it on my C500 but it doesn't work. It stops the internet connection altogether. Anybody esle having problems with it?
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I tried it and All Locations, both of them always report 0 bytes usage :x no mater which connection I choose. I had exactly the same problems with All Locations on my old E100, it kept on showing 0 bytes used no matter what I did (email support said there was something wrong with my device) and it does the same on my E200. But it seems odd that both programs produce the same results :?: but IMeter works.
