On e100...possible.

Using PHM Registry Editor

1. Open HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\RAI\:MSCONTACTS

2. Tap left soft key (Values)

3. Rename 1 to 1OK

4. Hit Menu > New Value > String

5. Value name: 1

Value data: (location of exe file)

6. OK then exit PHM Registry Editor.

Sample

Value data: "\Storage Card\Program Files\Photo Caller ID\Caller ID.exe"

The sample data above will launch aidem's Photo Caller ID app instead of the default Contacts program.

If you want to revert to the default Contacts program, rename 1 to 1X, then 1OK to 1.

You're welcome.

If the SP3 have the same reg setup then it may work. The best way for you to find out if it really works is to try it. :D

One tiny question, after this, you cannot open contacts via the link in your start menu! Only way for me, is to go into the windows folder and finding: Contacts.exe and pressing that!

Making a short-cut to this file doesn't work either... what do you guys do?

I hope that Pzee know the cause...

I will look into that. I'll try it on my C500 and see if I get the same thing.

@morflez

Have you restored your default :MSCONTACTS value data?

The default value is appman.exe -s Apps :MSCONTACTS tpcutil.dll AMContacts

Try to input those values then see if it will work.

It works on the Danish SPV C500

Is it possible to rename the button, so it doesn't say "Contacts"

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Maybe with a ROM patch. rcperez was able to change 'Programs' (left soft key) of e100 to 'Start'.

I haven't restored my backup ... I still want to use the right softkey to an alternative program .... I'm sure if I store my backup it will work just fine again. But I kinda miss "contacts"

1) Was there ever a fix for this?

2) Was a way ever found to re-name the Contacts button?
