Guest Disco Stu Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 It's got to be some sort of corruption with one of your ringtones. I would get rid of them all and start with completely new ones.
Guest pietta Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 had the same problem, after a lot of head scratching i uninstalled a theme i had put in and restarted the phone. it worked :D
Guest ga!nusha Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 tnx for the replies... guess i'll delete 'em freakin tones....
Guest benjymous Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 If you've got betaplayer installed - that might be causing the problem: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...05entry544805
Guest ga!nusha Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 tnx i found your reply... but i forgot to post here.... tnx... beta player is the cause of this!
Guest benjymous Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Ahh, that's good - glad we've got a solution - I just hope anyone else having this problem finds one of these threads!
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 17, 2005 Report Posted February 17, 2005 Yes benjymous, I found it! Thanks for that, when I read "Hard Reset" my heart sank! This has fixed it, and I've added a "me too" to your bug report
Guest Rapier Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 benjymous's right... it's all about BetaPlayer or, to be correct about filetype registering... If you set all audio/video...etc to be opened with BetaPlayer (in Options) you'll get this problem (I have it too). You just have to unselect those files that are "standard" and used for sounds.

I changed the theme and it fixed the problem...but i'm still having a problem getting my mp3 ringtones back! Before it wouldnt even accept other wav files now it accepts those as ringtones but not mp3!! I've also noticed that windows media player doesnt recognize mp3's and doesnt read the \storage\application data\sounds folder it only reads the "home" and "profiles" folder. Anyone have any fixes? I'm currently working on how to fix this... Edited April 29, 2005 by zebo4
