Guest BrisbaneMango Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 On Monday I updated my C500's ROM from 4.1.1.4 to 4.2.2.1 and have had problems with my Sony HCB-300 Bluetooth Car Handsfree unit ever since. Prior to the ROM update the HCB-300 worked flawlessly. After the ROM update I had to re-pair the C500 and HCB-300 but the following now happens: 1. I turn the car ignition on, the HCB-300 springs to life 2. After a second or so the handsfree symbol (a pair of headphones next to the [G] symbol) appears on the C500 (so far so good) 3. After ~10 seconds the handsfree symbol disappears from the C500, and... 4. ...the HCB-300 issues a 'rising tone' to indicate that it's lost connection with the phone I then need to delete the HCB-300 Bluetooth device from the C500 and re-pair the units before their connection will persist, though this takes a while and is only a temporary fix - I need to repeat the process when I next get in the car. Anyone any ideas?

Prior to the ROM update the HCB-300 worked flawlessly... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, if anyone is interested, I went back to version 4.1.1.4 of the C500 ROM and the problem was resolved. Of course, I now have the 'd-d-d-doink' sound when I attempt to insert a symbol, but I can just about live with that. I phoned Orange prior to downgrading the ROM and explained the problem to them. They offered to send an engineer out to take a look at the HCB-300 car kit! I explained that the problems only started after the C500's ROM upgrade but they appeared to be convinced that it was the HCB-300 that was in error. Ho-hum. Regards, Neil
