What does connecting to the pc allow me to do?

Syncing your phone with you pc allows you to copy and install files from your pc to you phone, share internet connection, backup and sync Outlook data, copy and move files (on your phone, from phone to pc, from pc to phone)

How do I set up the connection?

Insert the cd that came with the phone into the computer, then follow the instructions to install the software in this order:

*Do not connect your phone until after you have installed ActiveSync*

1.Outlook 2000 or later, if you do not install this you can't sync contacts or email.

Outlook Express cannot be used for this purpose.

2.ActiveSync 3.6 or later - this is required for your pc to talk to your phone

3.Configuration wizard ? its not necessary to change anything until you reach the msn setup, unless you are sure on what your doing.

Synchronise contacts between outlook and the smartphone

After every thing is installed connect your phone to the pc, ActiveSync will ask what you wish to sync, contacts, inbox calendar, and tasks. (only if you have outlook 2000 installed) ActiveSync will load into the task tray.

If everything is installed ok, there will be a popup with the question to replace the contacts of your phone with the outlook contacts.

If you want to sync contacts afterwards open ActiveSync (in the task tray when the phone is connected) and go into tools-options then tick the box for what you want to sync

Use the pc's internet to connect your smartphone to the net

Go into Settings\ Data Connections, on the smartphone and change internet connection to Passthrough or Automatic

Installing or Removing software to and from the phone

In the phone menu go to Settings\ Remove Programs

Or

In Activsync go to Tools\ Add Remove Software

Software installed from the pc will show in ActiveSync, software installed on the phone (.cab files etc) will be shown in the phone menu
